Player 1: Moves Master Chief's body and looks using controller.

Player 2: Dodges bullets and shoots enemies.

Player 3 & 4 = Bleeds jealousy from couch.

Willing to bet this all has to do with those new terminals 343 added into the game.

@sammo21 i was thinking the same thing. possibly some virtual reality aspect could be added hate how most of these comments are so single minded on one small mention of voice commands in the game when there's a lot of things that can be done.

What if... This is really far fetched but what if we have to sing the theme song of sponge bob square pants to access the terminals!?!?

Shooter without a controller seems awkward. Plus you have to stand 7 feet away and do it, there's no way in hell that guy in the image has Kinect working correctly.

This video was a month or two before Kinect was released. Notice the odd looking thing that is supposed to look like a kinect (on the right)

@(Unverified) that's not an official image, but other than I agree with you. After playing through the Gunstringer it was a stark realization that I won't play any serious games with Kinect.

I imagine it's gonna be an on the rails level you can play.

In my dreams, though, it's shouting "XBOX TARGET LOCATOR" and watching your friends die in a super awesome attack.

@SamuraisShadow not every shooter is going to be on rails just because it was the most used way for movement at the begining of the launch.

Im just curious, but what games make the $150 worth it?

To show this has no agenda, I bought the move and regret it cause Sorcery has all but been announced it was cancelled. $130 down the shitter. I was expecting more then just FPS and party games. :/

Well, Kinectimals has bears now. And who doesn't love bears?

Seriously though, I'm happy just being able to pause Netflix and Hulu with my voice, but your mileage may vary.

@Faenix - My picks would be Kinect Sports, Dance Central, Child of Eden & Gunstringer (especially Gunstringer) for Kinect exclusives that make the sensor worth it...

Fruit Ninja Kinect is also pretty cool, plus there's the head tracking stuff in Forza 4 & the voice commands in Mass Effect 3, as well as the Kinect Sports & Dance Central sequels, that are upcoming & likely to be pretty cool.

Also, the voice navigation for things like Netflix is pretty cool & will be even better when the new dashboard update comes & it's not just limited to the Kinect hub.

It's certainly not for everyone but I certainly feel like its been worth the $150 I paid at launch for my sensor.

Can't speak for Color Blind Monk, but just a quick list:
Dance Central, Kinect Sports (not season 2...), Fruit Ninja, Child of Eden, soon to be Gunstringer, Rise of Nightmares, Once upon a Monster, Rabids & Powerup Heros. Further out Project Draco & the "better with Kinect" functionality being added to many games along with the Dash being optimized for complete Kinect / Voice control. Definitely missing some things that likely stand out to others, but that's my list off the top of my head.

To me though, "worth it" was less about the few games I picked up on launch (which also included Kinectamals, which my daughter only played twice...) & more about adding this interesting & fun functionality to my setup from the outset. I don't mind a bunch of party games either personally, as I held off on buying a wii & the kinect also filled that "style" of entertainment for my family & freind gatherings. Anybody can come in a pick out specific games or the number of games and say they don't come out to be worth the $150 investment, but I haven't looked back at the purchase with regret once.

What if it's an "Avatar Kinect" style machinima (or however you spell it) editor for easy-to-create Red vs. Blue-esque videos? Now *that* would be awesome!

People playing FPS already use excuses all the time for failure ..... most commonly "Dat Latency", I guess its now going to be "Dat Motion Control"

I can't wait to hear profanities about how they got headshotted because the stupid Kinect lagged or "glitched"

I think it would be cool if they added some sort of "Virtual Cortana" feature... I mean, Cortana is in your head, talking to you already, wouldn't it be cool to be able to talk back?

That said, I already sold my Kinect because the games were of no interest, and the Kinect itself was unimpressive.

Sigh... you know, I realize that Microsoft had all that fancy voice software developed and/or purchased to support the Kinect, but it would be nice to be able to use it *without* the Kinect, when that's all they're using it for. Is the Kinect's microphone really so much more advanced that I can't just use a headset?

@Author X
Actually, you can mute the KINECT microphone through preference settings on the dashboard/guide menu(or by pressing the X-guide button on your controller and adjusting settings there). It's kinda... "preferred" to do that if you're not playing a KINECT game because player voices come out extremely loud and scratchy otherwise. I mute mine during GEARS2 Horde sessions and simply plug in my headset. The nice part is, the KINECT will still accept voice commands once you return to the dashboard despite muting the microphone for player-to-player voice chat.

Thanks, that's actually good to know. But what I meant was, why can't I use voice commands on my mic, without buying a Kinect? (answer: because they want "voice commands" to be a feature of Kinect, not of the Xbox 360)

@Author X - I believe Bioware may have addressed this in regards to why the voice control was a 360/Kinect exclusive feature in ME3... It's because the voice command functionality is built into the Kinect hardware/SDK so a lot of the work is already done for the developers when utilizing Kinect for that feature.

If developers were to support it without Kinect, they'd have to build their own voice recognition engine/database of words, which would take a significant amount of time, effort and budget to implement.

@conman30 - What exactly consititues a "proper" game under your definition?

I've played plenty of what I would call "proper" games that are Kinect focused or even Kinect exclusive, including the one I just finished yesterday (Gunstringer).

Does a game have to be a First Person Shooter, like Halo, to be a "proper" game? If so, than yes, Kinect likely cannot do a "proper" game.

I'm really impressed with all the stuff they are packing into this game. 3D and Kinect support were a big surprise to me. I think they could have easily charged full price for this remake. $40 is a great deal.

When I first heard about the remake I thought it would be a quick easy money grab like most re-releases are, but 343 really went above and beyond. The game looks gorgeous in both single player and multi-player. I've always wanted to go back and play through Halo 1 again and this is the perfect excuse. I'm more excited about this release than either Reach or ODST.
