Does this DLC require you to load an existing save before the moment it occurs in the story?

Or can you play this independently via an additional menu?

(I'm in Detroit so I'm wondering if I need to keep a save in the city if I want to play this during this same first playthrough.)

@(Unverified) They said that it'd be a separate menu, unrelated to your main save

That would be really clunky, if they required something like that. I'm sure it will have it's own menu listing.

@Fugaku Great, thanks. I'll save this for after my first playthrough then. (Don't have a lot of time to play, and now I'm splitting that time with Gears 3.)

Is this game worth $60?

Now arkham city is postponed for PC I'm considering this....

Yes!
Though, I think it can be found for cheaper these days. (Amazon has the PC download for $39.99)

Well, it's only $50, at least in most of the stores I've checked.

And I would say yeah, it's one of the best PC games of the year so far. In my humble opinion.

Gameplay is exactly like what you saw in the trailer. If that looked at all interesting, I say yeah, it is worth $60. It's even more fun to play than it is to watch, and it always feels extremely rewarding when you get through a section.

Plus, it's like 30 hours long and there is a lot of motivation to play through multiple times. It'll keep you busy longer than a lot of other $60 games will.

That's the wrong question since there's no way this game is still over $50.

Absolutely! Few games are worth the $60 price tag. Deus Ex: HR is! In my opinion anyway.

It's well worth a purchase at whatever the current price is ($40-$50). I borrowed it from a friend last weekend and have been seriously thinking about going and buying a copy, as I want it in my permanent collection.

Personally No.
Then again i went through the game total stealth with very little upgrades.

Game was too easy and boring, traded it in for resistance. Its the only game ive traded in this Gen.

The whole "fall asleep on a boat, wake up three days later" thing never really bothered me like it should. What really got me was later when they make a big deal about Adam's shuttle crashing into the ocean then seconds later he's standing on deck like it never happened.

But I'll be really surprised if the manage to stretch that into DLC.

I was like, huh? Then, whatever.

Maybe the explanation to that will be the next DLC?!

Did they tone down the blood on that promotional image in the video, or is the extra bloody one a joke?

@Dick Socrates I think it's a joke as it looks really close to the opening part of GOW III.

Hopefully the console versions will finally receive a much needed patch along side the DLC content push.(the cost of which they won't subsidize/offset with in-game ad revenue)

They called this DLC the missing link because it's the one that joins the actual game with the ending that was cut to sell to us at a later date.

Did anybody else notice that the thumbnail for the video is just normal Adam, but the smaller thumbnail at the top of Joystiq main page is Adam and he's all bloody?

They've been doing that occasionally with funny thumbnail images, there was a Gamestop post where the thumbnail was brilliant (chopped the logo to show STOP the players)

I'm having a hard time getting interested in this. I loved the game, but my least favorite part was the beginning when I didn't have many augmentations. It wasn't until I really started to upgrade Adam that I actually began having fun.

WHAT?!?! This is crap! We already know what happens during that trip - and that's to say NOTHING. He wakes up and Pritchard is surprised to hear from him since he hasn't heard from him in days....

What a waste of DLC - essentially this should have been included in the game or not released at all. It's like playing a deleted scene.

Give us some content post-game - or let us play as another character during the same time frame... anything but deleted scenes!

the only thing i found wierd with the DLC plot was if he gets out of the pod kills everyone and whatnot then just gets back into the pod same as when he left it without everyone noticing.

As for the no augs problem when this was first mentioned it felt like more people had a problem with how his augs stopped working as apposed to not being allowed to use them, but the "reset to factory defaults," covers it alright for me.

all in all im ready for this dlc and i might even do another run and pause the game at that point to start the dlc

Someone took a pen to Jensen's tiny recessed reset button.

At least now we know how to prepare for when the augmented super human future gets way out of hand.

So we know it's going to be accessible from the main menu, but I wonder, will it be integrated into the main game if you actually want to go through it again? I.e. if I play and get to the ship, will it go into the DLC content after I get into the cryopod, or will it continue as usual and I'd have to "pause" the main game and go into the DLC?

It may be similar to the Gamestop pre-order bonus mission. At one point after completing one mission it went back to a loading screen that said something like "now loading your pre-order bonus."
