Did the PC version of Pandora Tomorrow have that neat whitish night vision like the PS2 one?

@ToolroomKnight that wasn't night vision, it's EM vision.

@ranhalt There's no EM vision in Pandora Tomorrow. And I just found out the PS2/GC versions had black, white, and gray NV. The PC/Xbox ones had the traditional.

And of course that 'PlayStation Network' logo isn't because there's the brilliant Chaos Theory co-op or spies vs. mercs ... just trophies :(

@Epoque

Yeah, that sucks. Those were easily the best part of Chaos Theory. I don't even think I finished the main campaign, but I played the HELL out of co-op.

These are all still BC on Xbox, right? If so, they've gotta be cheaper on that.

@baby sea tuna Uh, about that Xbox BC.. uh, let's just say that Xbox Live dropped support for all non-360 games a while ago.

Based on what DF has said from the Joystiq quote, I'm not sure if I would even care to get it if it did come out eventually.

Bought and played the original released on the Xbox and later half the PC, own the entire set thanks to Steam. Looking awesome even to this date.

Cool, I've had Conviction sitting on my game shelf, but I haven't touched it yet because I haven't played the original games. That changes this week.

I think that once you play through the old Splinter Cells, you will want to keep Conviction on your game shelf for a MORE longer time.

Conviction is a good game, HORRIBLE Splinter Cell game.

Agreed. Conviction was fun co-op, but the campaign was linear and lacked the mini-sandbox/multiple objective approach of Chaos Theory (IMO the best out of the series).

Enough games exist on rails with clear instructions on what to do. I quite enjoyed the puzzle element of traditional SC levels in terms of figuring out how to complete each stage flawlessly.

Conviction wasn't bad per se, just not what one comes to expect out of the series and not anywhere as good as comparable games, such as Uncharted 2.

Yea I've heard about Conviction getting a lot of flak, but I'm already aware of the differences between it and the originals. As long as it's fun that's all I care about.

But thanks for the heads up anyway guys.

Theres one major benefit going DL, You get to pick and choose the games, and they all combine to be the same price. So after you finish the first one there might be a price drop.

"Its relative condemnation identifies the trio as "very basic conversions" of the PC games with rudimentary interface adjustments. The first two games reportedly perform in "an average manner," multiplayer has been cut, and textures are "disappointing." The standout title, DF concludes, is Chaos Theory, which "manages to acquit itself fairly well six years after its initial release."

In other words, don't buy these. Kind of disappointing from Ubisoft that this game runs better on a Seven Year Old PC than on the PS3.

Bad Port!!

Just buy the PC versions.
Better graphics, better performance, CHEAPER!, and Multi-player/Coop is still intact and working.

$40?! Not to be 'that guy' (since there actually is That Guy already on Joystiq), but I got these from a Steam sale last year for about 5 bucks each. Actually, I just did a quick check and you can even get ALL of the Splinter Cell games together for $45.99 from Steam and that's not on sale. This package is priced way too high.

Games are much cheaper on PC, esp. digital format ones. Plus no license fees.

The Digital PSN version is priced equally because physical retailers will complain and complain, and not carry the game.

I'll admit its overpriced, but most console games are in relative to their PC counterparts.

Not only did they release a campaign-only SC in Conviction, but they're trying to pander a $40 bundle that removes the best aspect of this series - it's incredibly addictive and wholly unique competitive multiplayer mode.

Granted, plenty people have only been interested in the campaigns, but for this steep of asking price you'd think Ubisoft would deliver the entirety of the content.

This company blows...

The DigitalFoundry article needs to learn that NURBS is not a plural noun. "NURB" is a meaningless term.

Almost every PS2 game retails brand new for $20 dollars. Based on that, I think it's a great price. Even steam only sells two of these games and they're $10 a piece on their own.

Glad to see this. I love that they're releasing all these collections. Gives me a chance to play all the PS2 games I never got a chance to play.
I'm hoping they release a Jak & Daxter collection, especially, because I always wanted to play those games.

If there was multiplayer then I would be buying this tomorrow. The campaigns were good in all the games but the spy vs. mercs was kept me coming back to Splinter Cell. I thought Convictions take on it was not nearly as good as Chaos Theories. Maybe if/when it gets real cheap on a clearance shelf then I'll pick it up.

Another Ubi HD Collection? Pass. They honestly don't seem to take the time to put in extra effort like SCEA, and few others, do. More like what Capcom has done... Upscaled Collections, rather than HD.

Sorry, Ubi... Team ICO has my money September 27th.

Clearly I've been making a mistake by not picking up the PC versions on Steam sales, something I will rectify come winter. I was looking forward to this, but it sounds like a huge disappointment.

Now can I have a Kingdom Hearts collection please?

I think the fact that these games retail for only 40 is a major selling point. It's fantastic that we can get these games brand new WITH the new HD for the cost of only 2 new PS2 games. It's like you're getting a 3rd for free. You could buy used of course and probably get them all for 20-30 bucks, but I don't trust that I wont get the disc of some kid who tried to flush it down the toilet once upon a time. Steam eliminates all those worries of course, but it doesn't even seem they have Pandora Tomorrow on there.

A bit off topic but I'm playing Deus Ex as a Sam Fisher-like character build.

Then on my 2nd play-through, I'll punch through walls.
