Sega has announced that House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut will not only feature stereoscopic 3D support for those with hoity-toity future TVs, but also anaglyph technology, for those of us with TVs older than we are. Check out the gallery below to see this ancient, polychromatic technique in action.
Take note: European copies of the game will include the prerequisite red-cyan glasses, but North American versions will go without. Don't worry -- we're sure you've got a pair tucked into some errant copy of The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3D.

Sharkboy and Lavagirl? Really? What kind of movies do you think I buy, Joystiq?
I got mine from my copy of Spy Kids 3D.

I love the 3D anaglyph option. When I saw it in minecraft I ordered this really awesome looking pair of 3D glasses from amazon for like three bucks and minecraft has never been the same, though the eye strain is killer. Its good that some games are respectful to my lack of a fancy shmancy 3DTV

No no no, I want a NEW House of the Dead: Overkill game, not a remake. The first one was truly fantastic. Short but sweet.

Maybe they're going to have a partnership with Kellogg's or something and put some glasses in my Apple Jacks.

anaglyph: While you kill zombies, the game kills your eyes.

That's AWESOME! This is really taking the little touches to make this game feel like the super-cheesy, grindhouse movies that it is supposed to be an homage to!
