I absolutely love the 100% Unofficial stamp in the video. Stay classy Datel.

Didn't give a shit till they mentioned button remapping. The amount of games that don't include this feature is mind boggling.

This actually looks neat, tho i don't have a 360. I probably still wouldn't buy it cuz 100% Unofficial just sounds dirty

It's almost like they knew exactly where I'd never ever want to have the start and select buttons on a controller!

@Butmac you are talking about the 2 buttons on the left, below the left joystick, yes? that's not start/select. those are ways to select different mapping modes.

@glibglop
It would appear to not even have a Start or Select button, unless they decided to include them on the touch screen.

If that's not the case... how are all those CoD players they want to market to going to switch loadouts mid-match?

Nevermind, it does not appear to be a touch screen, according to that little video I forgot to watch first. So, yeah, my bad.

It might be those two buttons on the underside, though. Meh.

Completely wireless without a dongle? Remappable buttons? Datel really knows how to get it right. I'm sure there's a valid reason why third-party controllers are meant to use dongles (I believe Sony has the same "rule"), but at the end of the day, it always seemed stupid to me.

@TCJJ
Rock Band guitars don't require dongles (on 360, at least), and they're licensed third-party wireless controllers. I don't see why this one would require one, either.

@NecroSen I'm not sure about Rock Band, but the Guitar Hero World Tour guitar I have for the PS3 requires a stupid dongle (although despite the super-annoying red, blinking light if you don't connect the guitar to it, it still plugs into one USB port and provides two more, so it's not THAT bad. Apart from the red light, which I guess you could always remove).

I do know that the Xbox 360 ones don't. I actually did forgot about those. But then again, they're not standard controllers, and they're also licensed. This Datel one is not. Although all of the other ones such as the Black Ops and Arkham City ones either require dongles or just go with a wired setup (I'd rather have a dongle any day - once you go wireless, it seems so hard to go back, despite the fact that I also love retro gaming).

I dunno, it seems kind of weird. I wish ALL controllers would just be allowed to sync directly with the Xbox 360 and PS3.

That looks like it should be in the back of a '92 issue of EGM alongside the Turbo Touch 360.

I would have given it at least 1997. It's buttugly and you tell in that lose up shot it made out of /that/ plastic. You know that really hard slick plastic that never ever feels right.

They really could have spent a little less money making it look SUPER EXTREME and more money making it actually look ergonomic and modern. It looks really uncomfortable.

Gears of War discourages rapid fire usage by noticing a rapid fire controller and stopping the firing of the gun in use. (Hammerburst is the main culprit)

Also: I doubt I'd want a color touch screen on my wireless controller. (battery life)

Alright, so much for the "level playing field", huh? Semi-auto rifles going off like SMGs now? Didn't that piss off a lot of people in the first Modern Warfare already?

So glad I only play coop online, I'd hate to get my day ruined by one of those whiny, singing kids playing with one of those.

And I don't know really, but the built-in screen looks like a real battery hog to me.

I remember watching an interview on Nerd Alert (CollegeHumor) where they interviewed a guy with Cerebral Palsy (I think that was it). This guy played video games and loved them, but he only had limited use of his hands. One of his biggest complaints was that almost all games do not include the ability to customize the controller setup, which made doing certain actions in game impossible for him.

So, I say if Microsoft and the game developers are not going to add a much demanded and needed feature into their games, then I am glad that someone is finally stepping up to do it.

As far as rapid fire goes... have to wait and see how made I get when I am killed in COD or BF3 by someone using it, or conversely how happy I am when I am racking up kills because I have my own Turbofire EVO!

How does Datel get away with this? I still see the first turbofire in stores. Like this article says, a wireless controller MUST be licenced by Microsoft for it to be sold.

I can see Datel getting sued tomorrow for this announcement.

Still, button remapping is a much sought-after feature for disabled gamers. Methinks Microsoft should at least take the hint on that one.

How do you plan on revving that chainsaw? Turbo on B means whenever you hold it, it keeps inputting single button-presses.
