First came Origins and the corruption of their EULA, then came Legends, specifically to market and analyze gamers.

All EA is doing is capturing data and providing it to marketers. Any business class will tell you uncaptured data is just a lost resource.

It means easy money for EA without asking gamers for money (ala project ten dollar). IMO it will appease shareholders that EA is trying to milk the cow dry while not putting the squeeze on us.

@Cap Morgan

Some people don't like it when their information, habits and preferences are captured and then sold to third parties.

Even if I'm part of aggregated data and those things can't be linked directly back to me, that's still not information that I want shared with 3rd parties that I did not authorize.

That's funny, because doing shit like this is exactly what I would call putting the squeeze on us. And considering they're already charging a $60 price point on the PC release, and have setup plenty of spots in the game for streaming in-game advertising, I have a feeling they're planning on doing that anyway...

I like how EA is using the name of former game companies for their services, Origin... Legend... :)

More than likely, Legend will be something that EA will be sued over at some point. People tend not to take lightly to being tracked.

If memory serves there was a similar service a few years ago that got people up in arms.

Get the advertisements off of my Xbox and out of my games!!

This is overload, and makes me not want to play games. Hell, I pay for Hulu Plus and still have to watch ads! This is farking stupid!

Boycott EA and Microsoft and Hulu, for starters.

I really hope this is something I can opt out of for EA products.

As I want nothing to do with this and the less advertisers know about me the better.

@Sh1fty Judging by their Origin EULA, there will not be an opt-out. I'm going to have a moral dilemma in March when my EA boycott comes head to head with the release of ME3.
