LEGO Lancer is a ludicrous, life-size labor of love

We've been known to have a bit of a penchant for LEGO ourselves, but the kits we snap together usually come with diagramed instructions and have more to do with fanciful medieval castles than brutal alien slaughter, and they sure as hell aren't life-size, functional engineering marvels.

PlumBrothers' 1:1 scale Lancer is one of the most impressive LEGO builds we've seen in a long, long time, partly due to its aesthetically accurate construction, but mostly because of the boggling amount of engineering that went into this thing. Not only is it a working rubber-band gun, but the weapon's rubber payload is loaded into working clips. Once the safety (!!) is disabled, the user has their choice of single or burst firing modes at their disposal. The chainsaw even moves and everything.

Screw gold, plastic is the new hotness.

this needs to be DLC in the game. Then it breaks when you try to chainsaw someone ^_^

Yeah man. At first I was thinking "Hey this is pretty cool. You can even remove the magazine." But then I saw the bayonet rev and was all :o

Holy crap that's complex! Burst shot was sick too. Guy needs to learn how to active reload though. What a n00b ;)

@Hi iTs SlayeR Who should hire? Lego? Cause you should see the stuff that the Lego employees can build. They can literally make pieces of artwork out of thousands of little bricks. I wouldnt be too surprise if this person does work for Lego.

Why don't people who make these, put together kits and sell them. I imagine people would pay big bucks for something like this...

or even better the working lego porsche...

The trigger/firing mechanism on that is as complex as some first year engineering projects. Hats off to this kid/guy.

I would totally rob a liquor store with one of those. Then run out and fake chainsaw someone and skip down the street laughing hysterically.

@That One Guy - oh you don't know? that's when you run up to some random bystander, take your lego lancer and place the chainsaw on their shoulder whilst shaking the gun and making a loud buzzing sound similar to that of a chainsaw.

i thought everyone knew this.

@Master Troll....Hysterical, but unfortunately, most shopkeepers keep a "Gnasher" under their counter....and it's not the lego kind.

Sadly, the only other way to get a "real life" Lancer is the prohibitively expensive replica Lancers. Still, I guess I'll have to stick to chainsawing Locust in the game for now.
