With the blades? It still exists as the menu that pops up when you hit the Xbox jewel.

I hate how the ads are more apparent even on the home section of the dashboard. Why is the main focus of the big boxes ads? They should of made that the disc icon.

Organization-wise with the blades was great. But not all themes were clearly visible with all that text..

Then each dashboard made it worse and worse..

Not "Bing" Batman?
Unless this is the GoogleBox.

Google is so prominent, the word has entered the public vernacular as a verb for searching. People that still habitually use Yahoo! don't say they're going to yahoo a thing, in fact some of them still say they'll google it when they use Yahoo! search.

It's even recognized as a transitive verb by Merriam-Webster: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/google

Microsoft is trying to fight that ubiquitous brand recognition by using their own brand, Bing, as a synonym for "search" in their marketing of this voice software (I don't know if the actual users will be forced to say "bing Batman" instead of "search for Batman", but it will get old quickly if we are).

I think it's hilariously awkward and misguided (people say Google because it's so ubiquitous, not the other way around), which is why I make fun of it every time it comes up.

Totally looks like they thought XMB was awesome and decided to steal/improve/addtheirowntouch.

I like it.

Glad they worked out plain/natural swipes for the Kinect menu interface, instead of the button/sliders from Kinect hub. Looks good.

I like it!

I'm glad MS rehauls the the UI once every 2 - 3 years, it makes the 360 feel fresh and new every time, and they don't just change the interface, they also seem to update the colours and resolution of icons, images, and etc so with every new iteration the menus look more HD every time (maybe its just me though lol)

I want more WP7 integration. Early adopter and I dig it! For the most part...

Mango news 2 please.

@Fire Walk With Me; It seems that Microsoft is really trying to create a strong ecosystem between the Windows Phone, Xbox, Windows 8, and other things Microsoft related.

Here's to hoping more people start adopting the Windows Phone once they have a taste of the Metro UI, and more integration comes along.

Looks good. Glad there is no more kinect hub.

Not sure why ppl compare this to XMB. XMB is laggy and unorganized and has is users are lucky enough to not be bombarded with ads everytime they turn on the PS3.

I guess the comparison comes from the six categories at the top? Still doesn't resemble XMB at all IMO an Microsoft has always used te box boxes. They just rearranged them for this dash.

Atleast it comes with a ton of new features as well as kinect support. With the right theme I can deck this dash out as well. Hopefully most of my themes will be updated but I'm not gettin my hopes up.

i think they are saying conceptually it's similar with the horizontal categories. but really that's a pretty basic navigation concept so to people saying it's a 'copy', that's a little out in left field. this is also almost exactly how MS's Zune software has functioned since it's first overhaul way back when, so it's not like it's new to MS, they are just finally unifying their various platforms so if you pick up a MS product, functionally it will work pretty much the same.

@SoCoolCurt It also looks exactly like the latest update for WP7

I want full microsft integration to be honest I'd like for all of their systems/software to work seamlessly.

WP7 doesnt synch to your pc copy of outlook which might be the silliest thing ever. Fortunately, exchange makes it mostly harmless.

XMB laggy and unorganized? What are you talking about?! The format is Main list of Groups placed horizontally, and its sub categories go vertically. Its the same thing as the current dashboard but reversed.

laggy? maybe the in-game XMB but not the normal XMB.

I've always thought it was pretty quick. I mean you can go through a list of 50 demos and games in a second. same with friends

this thing looked like it was having a hard time populating the fields with thumbnails what with all of those white boxes. hopefully that's not how it is

I've been waiting for this so I don't have to search for my xbox remote. I also hate using the controller for navigation when I'm not playing games.
One problem. Though: the guy demoing the dash was standing. I now you can sit while using it but it's pain at the moment forcing you to prefer standing. I hope it's tweaking extensively for sitting non-gaming moments.

as a big Metro and Zune fan, i love it. i'm honestly not a huge Xbox guy (i prefer my PS3) but i recognize a good UI when i see it and MS as a whole is moving in a good direction with Metro. i love the XMB but sometimes i do wish it was a little more 'colorful'. only complaint i would have is that there are a ton of ads on there it appears, that's another thing i like about PS3 is that ads mostly live in the PSN Store where they belong.

I don't mind the new interfaces either, especially if they add more content and extra features.

Words cannot express how happy I was when ESPN 3 came to my area with so much more sports content. The only TV I have is Netflix, antenna, and that, but I only watch TV for news and sports so it is perfect for me!
