Frankly, we're not sure what's better, the fact that there's a Wolfenstein 3D room in Rage, or imagining the reactions from gamers too young to know what Wolfenstein 3D is.
Haha, yes I remember doing that, but you don't actually play games like that anymore. It would be impossible! Those were all tight corridors and you'd just spam the space bar as you walked along the sides and hope one of those paintings would be a secret door.
I have yet to play the game (gotta wait for a ride - I hate living in the middle of nowhere). Any word on how to get in here (preferably without spoilers)?
Man Castle Wolfenstien 3D was one of my first PC games. That's just brilliant, I was meh on the game. Eventually I'd have picked up Rage but that just bumped it up my "To Get" list by like 3 spots on sheer sentimental value. :-)
Wolfenstein lost it with the Nocturnal Missions. They were so lazily put together they bring the whole series down. Doom, on the other hand, they kept up the great level design throughout the original series. Doom definitely takes the crown. Catacomb 3D will always be my favorite id property though. They need to bring that back in a big way!
Seeing that room just makes me realize how violently brown modern FPSs. It's more realistic for their settings, but it makes be pine for a little color.
Remember when Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard did that too?
Yeah, I know it wasn't the greatest game. But it was pretty funny, and a lot of fun. The 2D Nazis would turn sideways and you couldn't shoot them. Lawl.
not sure if you guys know this, but fyi this has to be completed on your first time there, so literally while you are doing the first mission
i just tried to do it now after finishing the quest and this time there is a barricade blocking you out from most of the area. thats actually really lame imo
I liked the old days of the internet when people just put up text explanations that there 'is an Easter Egg if you perform this series of actions'. Now there's no point in even bothering to go searching for it. I've seen it.
