It sounds really interesting. I will definitely give it a try since its the same price as my cable company, but with way more options.

@Uncommon

I think Xbox Live is finally starting to fulfill the promise of making the Xbox more of an entertainment center vs. just a game console.

I'm excited to see what XBL looks like on the next-generation console now that they've figured out PPV and made deals with so many cable service providers.

I wonder if this opens the door for the new WWE channel thats set to launch in 2012....could get interesting (maybe also get some Microsoft tv quality original content in the future as well)

Article was hard to follow. Was the blogger upset it wasnt like ufc.com? The article focused more on missing polls and other garbage few care about instead of focusing on fight content.

Kind of neat regardless I'm hoping this new tv content can help me in my quest to cut the cable cord forever.

This is great. Since I don't have cable I don't have access to PPV so this is something I'm definitely going to use.

I'm only a casual UFC fan, but I like this on a real basic level. Finally a way for me to see a PPV without having to go to a bar ... pay for cable of all things ... or steal some awful stream.

This is great. Downgraded cable to basic, for sports only, but sacrificed PPV capabilities. Now I can have cheap cable AND UFC events? Dare I say, this is totally rad?

(I believe I do.)

I am not a fan of UFC but they are innovators. I think this will be really huge and we will see other events. It won't surprise me if WWE jumps in with Xbox also. They are working on a network themselves but have loads of content including their live events. Seems like a no-brainer and no offense, seems like the exact market that they are looking for.

The only problem is that videogames have caused people to watch TV less. With the devices doing more media does that mean we are going to play less games?

Great, since Microsoft won't let you customize your dashboard, I have to see UFC promos every day I turn on my Xbox now. I wonder if you could block it with some parental control or something.

Yes. Having to see ads for something you think is completely stupid, almost every day, is extraordinarily annoying.

Other than Rock Band being far superior on X-Box, this was the only thing that made me extremely jealous that I picked and committed to the PS3. This makes the PPV's I consistently purchase that much better.

I would seriously buy an X-Box for this app.

Here's to hoping that the price is LOWER than what we pay our cable provider since, well, there's no Cable provider fees and we're directly purchasing from UFC for the stream.

@ungeheier - "Pricing is identical to other providers" (from the article)

Same with if you purchase the PPVs through the UFC website. It's part of the UFC's contracts with the cable companies. They can't sell the PPVs for less online.

I'm calling it now, by mid next gen your Xbox might be the only box needed in your entertainment set up. I'm already there by using media center for tv. Just give us bluray playback and that's all I need.

Since I don't use Facebook I hope they add the free streams of the Prelims to the Xbox.

@spid: I had the same thought, but I actually hope they add the free prelims regardless. The Facebook stream is nifty, but the content delivery seems to be subject to occasional lag, which is not good right in the middle of a fight. It sounds like they're trying to address content delivery specifically with this setup, so if the prelims could have a more stable stream, it would be awesome (not to mention that it would be nice to just watch the entire event from one device, instead of watching the prelims, then switching over to the Xbox/cable box/satellite for the PPV).

@spid - This was my main thought as well. I really hope they add the online prelims.

I have no issues with using Facebook & I have very few issues with the stream quality but it would be nice to just turn on my 360 instead of having to connect my laptop to the TV every event so that the entire family can watch the show.

This is a sick ass idea im actually impressed by this idea and it will make watching events so much better being able to see the stats of he fighters while watching the fight. If this works with the xbox party system that would put it over the top for me

This is awesome. I watch every ufc event and if something like this were on ps3 I'd be all over it. Bravo Zuffa & Microsoft!!! This is a game changer.

By the way I think Maynard is going to tool Edgar for a 3rd time.

My picks:
Maynard via unanimous decision
Aldo by TKO round 2
Sonnen via decision

It's just a shame Maia vs Santiago is on the prelims and not the ppv. Who really wants to see Leonard Garcia fight Nam Phan on the ppv? I don't.

This is a super stacked card. Probably the best card of the year.

@Johnnynumber5 is powered by cell....I agree with the picks, but "tool" Gray Maynard. These two guys are pretty evenly matched, and their fights show it. Edgar's ability to defend the takedown, and outstanding counters will be the difference. Aldo is a monster, once he adjusts to Florian's reach, I think he's a superior striker, Kenny's best chance is to get the fight on the ground. Also, I want to see Nam Phan. His ground game is tight! I remeber watching him and Bill Cooper have some epic matches at Gracie Open and NAGA.

There are two things I want from this...

1) Being able to watch the online prelim fights on my TV without having to hook up my laptop for every event (as someone else mentioned)

2) If I order a live PPV, I'd love to have on demand access to watch it anytime I want afterwards.

Those two little things would make this easily the most used thing on my 360 by far.
