Please disregard initial forecasts for Silent Hill: Downpour. The launch has been delayed from 2011 to the first quarter of 2012, giving us all more time to fill bags with sand, collect tin cans full of preserved meats and, of course, panic over what the hell we're going to do about Pyramid Head.
MCV broke the news earlier today, confirming the new launch window with Konami. Though the publisher has yet to release an official statement, several outlets have confirmed Downpour's going back in the oven. That's a good thing, probably: how else is protagonist Murphy supposed to dry his clothes?

good i am happy about that, there is so many games coming out in november that it would have been impossible to play them all especially games that come out on the same day, this gives me a breather to concentrate on other games i have to play next month.

So many games coming out from Nov-early 2012. I only wish I had the money and time to play them all.

I still can't get excited for this game. Since Silent Hill 0 this franchise has made a sharp decline into bland for me. Literally should have kept it with a JP developer.

@sammo21 Yeah! Silent Hill 3 and 4 were absolutely amazing games with zero flaws.

You know you're in trouble when your game gets delayed by months no one gives a damn. Batman on PC gets delayed 3 weeks and a small corner of the Internet went into melt down.

This game still won't sell much. Q1 has Bioshock Infinite I think and ME3 and some others. (Witcher2)

If there's a god this will be vaporware. This series took a nosedive after team silent moved into better things (siren: blood curse, Shadows of the famed)

@Arsenic13.I never said Team Silent developed those. I said (to paraphrase) it makes more sense to follow the talent (as opposed to the franchise). It makes sense to follow the careers of the talent in the original team. So, anyone who’s a fan of the original team should seek out Gravity Daze, Siren, SOTD, if they really enjoyed the work of the original team members.

That's fine.
I'm extremely excited for this game, but the fall was crowded with far too many AAA games, and I would love to see the game get some extra polish before release.
Although, Mass Effect 3 and Diablo 3 both come out early next year as well....

Amazon e-mailed me about this weeks ago. I figured it was common knowledge.

They can have another 9 months as long as it turns out good. There is a distressing lack of scary games in this generation.
