I remember picking it up on sale for $10 a while back, thinking "When the hell are they going to drop the price permanently?"

Seemed every other week it was going on sale for $10 anyways.

It's not a bad game either, and for $10 I got all the enjoyment out of it I expected. I do hope Episode 2 is drastically improved though.

I'd take a second episode rather than a price drop on the first personally!

Zoom the camera out and the game would be instantly better.

It should of been $10 from the get-go. Too short, horrible physics, rehashed bosses to the extreme, the list goes on and on. The only real positive point I can think of for Sonic 4 Ep1 is that some of the music was good.

Eff that, this game is terrible. They should be paying US to play it.

@PSOCecil I agree entirely. No way this should have released at $15.

And I guess it's still 1500 points on WiiWare.

It's a good game but $15 was a bit too much for it. It's probably best compared to Mega Man 9 and 10, which are both $10.

of course it would still be 1500 points. Nintendo never has sales or discounts

Are they doing additional episodes or is that Episode 1 slapped on there to make it sound cooler?

George Lucas has been given helm of Sonic 4: Episode 5.

SPOILER!

Eggman reveals to Sonic he is his father, and his mother's a hoe. Shit gets real, that's all I got so far.

Yup. I plan on getting it when it inevitably hits $5 during a sale. I did get it for $3 last week on Windows Phone though, I thought I heard that the mobile version was pretty similar...

Sonic 4 was a huge disappointment. I paid $10 for it i think when they had the Sega Sale. Its not even worth $5.

Good, get the base price to $10, so the next sale it will be $5 and that's when I pounce.

Make you a deal, Sega. Instead of lowering the price, leave it at $15, but fix the lousy jumping physics that feel like they came from an amateur Flash game.

I'll consider buying Episode 1 when all the episodes are released. I've already been burned too many times waiting for episodes that never came.

@superfrick Episode 1 is pretty self-contained. The only thing relating to Episode 2 is a little teaser image if you collect all of the chaos emeralds. It's not like Half Life. :P

I pirated this for wiiware on the dolphin emulator, not worth it. Too many rehashed levels and boss fights. They also added some bad puzzles ont he pyramid levels that slowed the gameplay down. Sonic is suppose to be a fast dude.

Well, gameplay-wise Sonic 4 is based on the Genesis titles which always had many parts where everything slows down and you have to do quite a bit of platforming. In other words, though it is 2D it's not supposed to play like the Sonic Advance/Rush games.

It's not supposed to be all about speed at all. Visually, though, the game is a wreck.

Visually, this Sonic game is a huge mess. It's supposed to be a direct sequel to the Genesis Sonic games but it has the new green eyed Sonic instead.

Also, the assets, world, and environments look cut-and-paste cheap.

Nice cash grab from Sega but Nintendo would never do this with Mario. I don't see why Sega can't have the same respect for its most popular franchise.
