I think Im already done with it after that clip to be honest. The songs are fun, the constant clanging of "ching ching ching" with every button you hit correctly got old fast.

Because, you know, noise from rhythm games is totally a new and unexpected thing. Whoo. I'm glad playing Guitar Hero/Rock Band and Elite Beat Agents was as quiet as it was.

EBA does that I guess.. It seemed less annoying, though. RB/GH actually has you playing the proper musical parts of the real song, so I wouldn't those are comparable.

Go play Princess Debut if you want a EBA style game without the noise. It's really frustrating to not know whether or not your input went into the game when it doesn't make a sound.

My point being Id rather have a noise tell me when I did something wrong then when I did something right.

Something wrong, you get a buzz. But the song continues if you nail it. I want to hear the song, not a constant reminder I am playing a game. I know I am. Im playing it!

I was mainly referring to the clicks and clops of the plastic instruments you're using. =P

@RickGhastly I think we can swap in Terra. Lightning was probably used for the people who have no idea of what FFVI is. Though, they did use the FFVIII cutscene, so eeeeeeh.

Honestly, if you don't know any of the other Final Fantasy characters and their corresponding video game numbers then you don't know Final Fantasy at all. I once was asked if Final Fantasy XII was a sequel to XI. ...*sigh*

I don't get it.

If this is a 3DS game why every screenshot or video I see is in 16:9 aspect ratio. Is not the 3DS touch screen a 4:6?

Unlike the regular ol' DS, the 3DS has a wider screen on the top.

@RickGhastly: Everyone knows that dude, but that one is not a touch screen you see.

That means you have to imput in the touch screen wile looking at the top screen?

That kinda sucks. More on those follow-the-line parts...

Oh yeah, for some reason it didn't register that this stuff pretty much has to be on the bottom screen.

Good question.

I assumed that the directional-circles meant that you'd push the analog in the direction it points, or in other words, it would be button-controlled. This would let you watch the top screen.

@Shoyz:

That's odd, making it button based and not using the touch screen is weird for a 3DS game. The first time I heard of this game I was thinking it was for Vita. Maybe that's why.

Also if it really is button based I cannot shake the feeling this was a minigame caned from Dissidia.

I think they jumped the shark when they released another game after the first one... hence, rendering the name "Final" Fantasy near non-sensible.

And besides, they would've REALLY jumped the shark if they had released this as a Guitar Hero / Rock Band game when band games were still big.

...realize that jumping the shark mostly refers to "doing something absurdly ridiculous in order to over-please the audience" - whether that means earning them back, or making a crap-load of money... similar to whoring one's self out.

This isn't doing that.
It would be if it were trying to compete with other rhythm games at the time, or if they had a nitch that made them "stick out".
...like if they put in vocaloids...

Ehrgeiz was more of a jump than this - considering it was all "3D fighting game! ......... with unlockable FF7 CHARACTERS HURRAYYYYYYYY"

Or maybe Sony products commercials that featured FF7 characters in them (Japan only of course)?

Heck, if you wanted to generalize, FFT would be considered a big jump - considering that it almost copied everything from Tactics Ogre (which originally released on the Super Famicom) and just gave it a "Final Fantasy" flair (aka, less tactic - more shine).

You didn't pick up on that after the MMORPG, the Disney crossover, the barrage of sequels/spinoffs to old titles, the fanservice fighter, or thegamehalf the Internet complained about?
