Subscription streaming TV service Hulu Plus is coming to both the 3DS and Wii, sometime "soon," Nintendo says. While you may be inclined to make any number of "dust off my Wii" gags, we should probably remind you that when it comes to Netflix streaming, the Wii is actually the most popular device. In fact, that same survey pegged the Wii as the most popular Hulu streaming box, even though it wasn't yet available; thanks, margin of error!
The only other piece of information we can share with you is the price; as with Xbox 360 and PS3, Hulu Plus will run you $7.99/month in exchange for "thousands of TV episodes – including the entire current season of popular shows like Modern Family, Glee, Dancing with the Stars, The Biggest Loser, House and Grey's Anatomy." If you're thinking about cutting the cable TV cord, you could do worse.

Hulu used to have one commercial at the beginning and one in the middle. and they were like 15 seconds each.
in time it will have just as many as cable

@eat it That was inevitable, and I personally thought it would've happened years ago. I guess I overestimated adoption rate for online video.
When online becomes the main source of viewers, focus on income will then be put on that for TV companies, thus more ads will appear on it.
Before is wasn't on top so less companies wanted to advertise, thus, less ads, but things are different now.

I guess this is interesting? Far be it from me to complain about added functionality, but as someone who has a Hulu+ subscription and a 3DS, this is of 0-5% interest to me.

...and the 3DS battery will die before you can actually finish any one of the thousands of TV episodes...

I have watched a 2 hour movie from Netflix on my 3DS, and I was at about half battery life afterwards. My phone has the largest battery in a smartphone today, and it actually does worse. I'm usually at about 40% after a 2 hour movie on it.

The battery is no different from pretty much any other portable device when the 3D's not on. I've laid and bed and watched an entire movie on mine and the battery was still around 70% or so.

I wish the shows could be presented in 3d. Then when you watch House you could say that the screen is actually lying and your eyes are just rationalizing the sense of depth.

Awesome, now 3DS owners can pay $8 a month to repeatedly be told that the show they want to watch is only available on the web!

Now my 3DS will have an advantage over my Galaxy S phone.
