This looks close to mario 64 in terms of greatness.

Don't care what anybody says about Nintendo's business practices, the stuff they do release is still amazing and I cannot WAIT for this game.

I'm flipping a coin between getting this one or Mario Kart 7. I might be flipping this coin for a while...

I guess, I'll be president... It looks like it plays like these isometric GBA platformers even though the camera can be moved at times. I don't know. I guess I'm just not as impressed by this game as I hoped I would be.

@sparkster They had a huge booth set-up in my city centre with demo's for Mario Kart and Mario Land and luckily I tried both. The camera wasn't an issue for me but I don't think it swayed me to pick up a 3DS just yet, I'm still going to wait in the hope that a "Lite" is released sooner or later.

Wow, now that you mention it, all I can think about is isometric games when I see it. As sour a taste as that puts in my mouth though, it's still not enough to diminish all my initial excitement.
I take solace in the fact that isometric viewpoint games control worlds better with analog input at least. Guardian of Light, for example, felt a hell of a lot more fluid than Super Mario RPG ever did.

I can't believe they're releasing this game on the same day as Skyward Sword in Europe. It's craaaazy.

This actually looks pretty awesome. I just don't know if I'll have time to play it when it comes out. This October / November have been overloaded with great games. Now I just have to decide which ones to play first.
I think I'll play them in the order: BF 3 -> Uncharted 3 -> Skyrim --(many hours lager)--> Super Mario Land -> The other half dozen big titles I missed

@Greippi
???
I don't know about the person you replied to, but I stopped being excited for Zelda games a long time ago. I've still not played TP, and Phantom Hourglass was dumb because of the touch only controls. Spirit Tracks just seems too stupid because of the train angle.

I rarely get this excited about games, and when I do it's almost always a Nintendo game.
They're a foolish company and make constant stupid mistake after constant stupid mistake. But dammit Janet they occasionally show me why they're on top of all gaming markets.

I bought a 3DS at release and actually had the most fun with the included street pass games. I keep hoping for something "new" from Nintendo, but I personally keep getting let down. I will certainly take a look at this game when it's released but I'm just not all that excited.

Games like this will always keep dedicated gaming handhelds relevant. You won't find an experience to match. Glad I own a 3DS (and iPhone for "lite" gaming). :-)

@dragunrising GTA3 will be the big test for iPhone/android gaming.
it's good to see they caught up to psp year 1.
now they just need to announce the new pokemon game and theyll be set.

Hm, I guess I'm the only one who feels Super Mario Land 3D looks a bit too simplified. (?)
I mean it looks like a joy to play, but I think they threw challenge and action out the window for this one.

A boomerang... just seems like a natural weapon for Mario. Would have thought he would have gotten it earlier, like the Hammer Bros did in SMB3.
Actually, I guess this replaces the Hammer Bros Suit with the Boomerang Bros Suit, in keeping with the SMB3 theme, since a boomerang makes a better 3D weapon than hammers do.
Also... did I see Goombas with the Tanooki tail?

I have my $30 K-Mart coupon from buying Arkham City saved for this game. Can't wait, the only 3DS game I own right now is Splinter Cell 3D, which is a letdown and very difficult to play in any lighted area.

Now there's a boomerang flower?! You can grow anything in the world of Mario!

This could be the best mario they have ever created...a brilliant mix of old and new!

This is actually Boomerang Mario's second appearance. You could unlock that power-up in the GBA version of Super Mario Bros. 3 using an e-reader card.

Mario should swallow enemies and gain their abilities. Also he should roll into a ball and drop bombs.

Yay for Mario... but where oh where is poor Luigi? He gets to get scared in an old spooky house, what fun is that, while his brother is out having a blast. Can we get Luigi back with Mario and do two players like before?!
Already have this bad boy on pre-order along with Mario Kart 7 and Paper Mario for 3DS. Oh and Skyward Sword as well for the Wii... WiiU next summer hope they dont make the same mistake and come out with first party games sooner than 8 months later.
