That's a lot of dedication there... although i hope they put it as a download later on on PSN, XBLA, etc. It looks quite fun, but I just don't hold on to old systems anymore.

@Softserve Then thats your problem. Not everything has to go digital. Maybe thats why they are putting this time and effort to show old style games have a future with REAL media.

The planet disagrees with you. We're running out of oil and physical media uses plastic which comes from oil. It has to stop, and physical media, along with gasoline are two products which are not long for this world. (the latter will of course last much longer than the former, sadly)

With a voice that low, maybe the narrator should forget about the Gunlord completely and just recruit five teenagers with attitude to save the universe.

Looks good for Neo Geo...not so impressive for the Dreamcast, though. Not that it's trying...

Also, that trailer is way too long. I didn't watch the whole thing, does it contain the whole game?

I need a new NeoGeo on my run-and-gun.

Because that console is older than I.

I saw Ur-Quan, Diablo, Jet-Jaguar, and then when the gameplay hit, it was Metroid meets Contra. Strange mix.

Kudos to Joystiq for doing a quick write up on this. The trailer is way too long, but the game looks amazing for an independent dev. If anyone is interested, pre-orders are now open for the regular, limited, and "Dragon Box" collector's edition all for Dreamcast. The exact release date is January 15, 2012.

Do they need a license from Sega and SNK to make these games? Or are they just taking their chances that they won't get sued for "homebrew development"?

You can't sue someone for "homebrew development".

Huhhh, that doesn't looks so much like a "Euro-style platformer" as it does a Turrican fangame. Looks absolutely identical. Not that I'm complaining, of course.

unfortunately this game looks like it would be bossible to make for the SNES or Genesis.. and there's probably a lot more people who have those consoles and play them.

Was wondering if the MVS cart was $200+, it is.
419,000 EUR = $581.82 US dollars

...And this was the reason I never got a NeoGeo when I was younger and the system was actually relevant. There's only so many lemonade stands, paper routes, and lawns to cut when you're a kid and you probably still won't have enough money to buy 1 NeoGeo cart.

Yeah, that's pure insanity for an indie release. I love my Neo GEO AES, but it's Dreamcast version all the way for me.
