But then, Ridge Racer would've been an even better game if it had Takenobu Mitsuyoshi singing overly Japanese-sounding English lyrics over every track like Daytona USA did.

Hell, every game would be a better game if it had that.

they went up on PSN yesterday. Daytona is ... Daytona, and Zombie Apocalypse is a fairly boring version of Dead Nation.

The original Zombie Apocalypse came out before Dead Nation.

Play a track other than Beginner. Expert goes all over the damn place.

Hell, just for fun, immediately turn around when the race starts and finish the race that way. The game won't only LET you do it, it'll count your high score that way, too. It's a great way to lose your sponsors, too, if you catch my drift.

Why are there mountains in the distance in Daytona? Florida doesn't have any mountains.

@spin cycle

Reminds me of the short lived Nathan Fillion Fox TV show, Drive.

There was an episode that was supposed to take place on I-75 just outside of Gainesville, Florida. As you can tell by my avatar I've spent a fair amount of time in Gainesville, and it is certainly not the brown mountainous desert that they were driving through in the show. In fact, that's about as polar opposite to the area as you can get.

I thought I'd be all over Daytona. But then I realized I have the far superior Daytona USA on the Dreamcast. I think I'll wait for a more robust AM2 offering.

Not exactly superior. More tracks, yes. Better graphics, debatably. Worse steering, most would say so, and that's a bit of a killer.

I'd have loved it if they could figure out some way to sneak in the Championship Circuit Edition tracks, but an arcade-perfect port is hardly a downer in my book, and, frankly, it was worth the $7 I paid for it. I suck at it, but I still love me some Daytona.

@CaptainProtonX I disagree, this new port is easily my favorite.

The original Saturn version got the physics right, but the rest of the hardware couldn't handle it. Championship Circuit Edition helped the graphics and draw distance, added some extra content but borked the handling. And I'd say the worst was the Dreamcast version. The steering was so sensitive I could barely play it for more than five minutes before rage quitting out of sheer frustration. Plus it looked kind of terrible, and the cars were really strange.

This new port is the best yet in my opinion. It handles perfectly, and I'm saying that after playing only with a 360 pad. When I get the game for PS3 and use my Driving Force GT (yes, I love Daytona that much that I would buy it twice), I can't imagine how much better it will feel. Add to that 16:9 HD and Daytona looks even more bright and cheery, in that retro sort of way. Arcade perfect indeed.

No go play this new one. The first ZA was just a survival against waves of zombies, this new one is sh*tastic, tries to have actual levels (like Dead Nation, but are laughably short), and some of the most worst characters and voice actors I've seen in a long time. I was really disappointed.. I just want Dead Nation on XBLA.. -sigh-

Seriously? I figured pure pwnage guy would get a game related to CS. Or an FPS in general. But interesting none the less.

And yes, I love Daytona USA. Some games have been really laggy. And even at that there aren't seem to many hosts. But hopefully as days go by there will be more people picking this up.

Mind you, I haven't read that "Total Pwnage" webcomic(and based upon ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE's dialogue, I don't think I'll bother); I thought it was making fun of that "COUNTER STRIKE Doug" guy.

"Everyone knows you run faster with the knife!"
Classic. :]

So, War of the Worlds is eligible for a full review? I figured that it could be cool when I decided to download it last night (just by looking at the pictures) and well, that just accounts for more hype towards the game (and increases the chances of a let down)

Rolling start, BTW.
