Her original name was supposed to be "Laura Cruz" who was of hispanic origin and was akin to exploring all those long-forgotten ruins and stuff, but they thought the non-english name would cause the character to lose appeal on people and instead made her british with her name as "Lara Croft", its real, look it up hehehe

Why did you choose one of the worst pictures from the gallery Joystiq??? That artist is horrible, he didn't capture Laura at all, old or new. That looks like a completely different person, cosplaying or something! Art style has nothing to do with it either.

The artwork is really good, but whoever took those images and collated them into the gallery itself was really shoddy.
Clicking "next" should bring you to the next image. You shouldn't have to click next 10 times for each image, passing through successfully higher res versions of the SAME IMAGE just to get to the next artist.
