"though you can calibrate the extra stick."

This alone is ringing some pretty loud alarms in my head. Why on Earth would anyone have to calibrate a joystick with a static specification and build...?

You can calibrate the built in circle pad too. Why should that raise any alarms? I've never had any problems out if mine.

The regular 3ds has circle pad calibration AND touch screen calibration. Heck, the ds has touch screen calibration. It's really not that weird at all.

News flash: Every analogue stick since the beginning of time requires calibration. There is an unavoidable margin of error, no matter how small it may be, and I'm sure you'd rather have calibration than to just deal with that margin of error. On top of that, the mechanics can settle with use and the "precision specifications" are not perfectly adhered to anymore. Know that every time you turned on an N64 all the way to the Xbox 360, the controllers calibrated themselves when they received power. Hell, the Playstation 3's controller even calibrates when you just spin the sticks in full circles. You're calibrating your controllers all the time, even if you are not conscious of it.

This looks amazing! It's definitely my most anticipated game of 2012 on any system.

One of mine too, though I'm kind of amused/bummed by the fact that Capcom is celebrating their 15th anniversary of the Resident Evil franchise by half-assedly rereleasing RE4, CVX, and Mercs and delaying all the legit new games until 2012.

Here's something new: somebody liking the Circle Pad Pro. I'm glad I'm not the only one. All I've been seeing here is people whining about a $20, optional addon.

@ColorblindMonk It may be optional in the strictest sense, but chances are it's gonna be required in practice if it catches on the way Nintendo hopes for the 3DS "reboot."

If it catches on, we'll be seeing more games with support to the addon. The 3DS has enough control options to make due without the second circle pad.

This, along that Super Smash Bros. that's supposed to be coming out eventually, would have been my reasons for buying a 3DS. But alas, I think I'll pass.

That makes no sense, but suit yourself. I'll be playing Super Mario 3DLand in 2 weeks.

Explain where it makes no sense. Unfortunately, I don't have the exact same taste in games as you. I tend to stay away from most Mario, Nintendo, and RPGs. I don't have a problem with them, they're just not my cup of tea. So, looking at what's available and what will be available, that EASILY eliminates 90% of the 3DS' games, leaving a couple shooters, and eventually Smash Bros. to look forward to. Not worth it.

@King Johngie the Fourth It's the information given in that comment that made no sense. All you said is that those 2 games would've been your reasons to get a 3DS. You went on to say that you'll pass. With that as the only context, it makes it sound like the game got canned or something. It made sense after you elaborated, but that initial statement really didn't make any sense at all.

Goes to show Mercenaries 3D was a glorified tech demo. It's still fun as hell with friends.

I know it's Nintendo's goof, and I get how it's supposed to be a "portable" console but honestly besides a few times on an airplane, I almost always play at the house. I might be one of the guys who actually gets this circle pad.

I'm starting to wonder why they don't just call this Resident Evil 6. It looks as full-featured as any mainline game.

Anyone that buys the 3DS now is a moron; just wait for the hardware revision. It's not as if there's games you'd want for the thing.

Hands down the best trailer I've seen for a mobile game. Excellent idea to release it on Halloween!

Earlier today I finished Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and mid-way into one of the puzzles I said aloud "You have entered the world of survival horror." I smiled when I saw the classic line come back to the RE franchise yet again!
