I have to agree that golf is by far the best part, once you get a couple of holes in. Protip: Use the practice shots. They do a great job of telling you where the ball should land and you are not penalized in the slightest.

My experience with the demo pretty much matches the review. I loved Kinect Sports (and I agree that the licensed soundtrack is fantastic) but Kinect Sports 2 was such a disappointment.

I'm definitely going to be passing on this one.

The one thing I did notice about Golf though in the demo was that my shots always seemed to go straight. Maybe I was just doing well but it didn't feel like there was much skill involved outside of figuring out the necessary power.

Maybe now they can work on a Killer Instinct sequel.

Oh, who am I kidding? They won't do it. At least give me Viva Piñata with tacked on Kinect support. At least it's more Piñata fun.

@Shady3011 : Killer Instinct III will never be made under the Rare banner. EVERYONE from Rare that worked on those games has quit or has been fired. The only chance KI3 ever has of being made is if the rights get sold back to Nintendo and Retro Studios (the new Rare) does it.

The review sounded a little more like a 2 than a 2.5, but I suppose that's about right for a set of motion-controlled minigames.

Every single person on here justifying this pile of junk was bashing Wii Sports for years. Envy is an ugly thing. Kinect is even uglier.

No one above your comment was "justifying this piece of junk". If you're gonna come in with a stock Kinect troll post, make sure you use one that fits.

@Co : Agreed. I find those people beyond humerous. Kinect is okay for what it is. I think it's a little too ambitious. Motion-controls WITH a controller haven't even been perfected yet. Much less motion controls without a controller. I personally this Kinect could have waited until 720. Especially since motion-control gaming in general is not the craze it was a few years ago.

They should have waited til 720, perfected the technology to the point that all games have true 1-to-1 ratio, and then released it.

Hey, hey, Kinect is cool. It's just misunderstood. You know, like the Wiimote was.

for some reason i stand out as dart super star among my friends, I got more achievements in that particular sports more than any others..

but yes, the kinect sports 2 is not as good as 1.. fully prepare to trade it back in for dance central 2 when good deal pops up.

I'd love to have the golf just for kicks & maybe add a few games to the party game time with friends & family, but I can't justify buying this as a full game... Just can't get past the fact that it pretty clearly should have been an add on to the original & not a stand alone title.

Rare...what has happened to you. How about releasing a Killer Instinct game? I mean shoot, that's what most people want. Am I right? So cut the nonsense.

Hey, everybody calling for a Killer Instinct game, do we actually trust the Rare of today to make one and do it justice? I submit that we do not.

Does no one else raise an eyebrow that this came out pretty much 1 year after the first? Should we expect season 3 next november, along with just dance 3? Maybe if it spent a little more time in the oven it would suck...less. but then again, can't expect much from shovelware.

I had to look it up ,but I figured I wasn't just blowing smoke. Wii Sports resort came out 3 years after the first. Maybe there was a reason, Microsoft... you aren't fooling anyone.

Ok this sucks! Joystick has spent all of two seconds with this game!!!!!!!!!!

I have this game mysel and Im telling all of you that this game is SO precise!!!

Like any sport it takes practice to be good at it.... Darts is by far the most skilled game but I understand after only playing it for one round that you could feel it was broken..... But in life if you only play darts once without practice then what's the chance of being super precise?

Sports 2s only problem is that it's too real and that the more you perfect your game the more you will get the perfect score. Just like real life... No you can't cheat like a wii game or lean on your past game practice on street fighter or tiger woods where button combinations were learnt. This is about you if you suck your review will suck

This review is hideous and annoyingly typical if how dismissive joystiq can be.

Trust me I have over a 100 games and I wouldn't be without this one for a second.

This review sums up perfectly what I thought about the game, had some highlights, but ultimately failed in it's delivery. I was really looking forward to playing football on the Kinect, but when I realized my running in place made my guy look like it was stumbling around the field, not to mention that there is no defence play, soured me on this game. I really wish I spent the money elsewhere.

At least Amazon gave me $10 back for my preorder, which takes the sting off a bit.

Too bad. We just hooked up our Kinect this weekend and it made for some great family fun. Definitely on the lookout for decent Kinect games now.

I love these games. I love to play then with my son and have some fun family time. That's what these are for. So called hardcore gamers look down on them, because they can't get the appeal of the simple casual game. Sucks for them, b/c this is a great way of getting my family and my friends that aren't gamers like myself into the fun.

Controlling games with nothing in your hand is pointless. These body-capture games don't work as well as their supposed to. Laggy, unresponsive, no buttons to press. I've played Kinect and it's not worth $150.

Wii and PS Move actually give you something to hold while you move around. That tangible feeling is obviously lost when you play these Kinect games. Playing charades with your game system is not my idea of fun.
