"This is unusual, given Microsoft's generally restrictive policies with regards to first-party publishing on Xbox Live."

The rest of the article points out that it fits MSs first party publishing options.

It wasn't as difficult as he's making it out to be. If I can get all the trophies - then anyone can.

I thought the game was hard. I gave up. Most people aren't as good as you.

I'm not exceptionally skilled at any game, it's just a matter of perseverance. That last level took over a hundred tries though.

There was a course involving fans near the end that made me put the game down for 6 months. When I finally came back to it, I felt like I was using some cheap exploitation of the physics to pass it. The challenges themselves weren't insane, it was that the controls weren't that great.

It's fun clever little game, but to say the controls and physics could improve isn't an exaggeration.

Buy the game on release on PSN, only for a version with more content to come out on another platform. I'm done buying indie games. Every time I buy one of Steam it's on sale within 8 weeks. Now this, why even bother. Next time a PSN exclusive game comes out I'm just going to wait and buy the XBLA version. It wouldn't surprise me if Joe Danger: The Movie is now a XBLA exclusive game, you know what MS are like.

@bitcrusherrr "Why even bother"? Really? I bother so I can PLAY the games. If you enjoy what you purchase, there's nothing to regret. Typically, products are refined, and prices are lowered as time passes. Independent developers haven't devised this new method of capitalism just to spite you.

@bitcrusherrr It's usually a case of XBLA first - PSN later with added content. This is actually the first time I've seen the opposite happen.

How do you think 360 Castlevania: Harmony of Despair fans feel about the PS3 version coming with some of the DLC and (more importantly) added offline multiplayer? That fixes one of the biggest issues with that game. And 360 players will never get it.

I figured the 360 version would have something exclusive in it...because it has to. Microsoft has that one rule in place that it either has to be exclusive or it has to have something unique to the 360.

The rule your half quoting states that they reserve the right to refuse to publish a game that has been published elsewhere without the same or more content.

It doesn't say they wont, they just have the option to choose to refuse.

I actually liked the difficulty of the original. It had me coming back to see if I could beat the level. I can only hope that SE doesn't make it too easy.

Yeah, I thought this type of thing wasn't allowed on XBLA.

So just out of curiosity, how did the developer get around the fact that Sony published and funded this game? Usually when either is the case the game doesn't go to any other console.

@Jason B The game was published and developed by Hello Games. Sony only had a hand in distribution.

I'm waiting for the sequel Joe Danger The Movie... it was a blast at PAX Prime and I want more than just trials style bike riding (mine carts, rocket powered skiis, etc) to buy this game. For trials riding I'll keep playing Trials HD and waiting for Trials Evolution as it's sequel.

I'm glad I delayed purchasing this for my PS3 - I try and avoid giving Sony my money, just because their customer service is TERRIBLE! I'd rather support Microsoft - who's customer service is generally better - unless they start swinging the banhammer, nailing innocent victims (which, by the way, has happened TWICE this year...)
