Michael Bay knows his way around swiftly moving metal machines, which may be why EA Black Box recruited him to direct a cinematic trailer for Need for Speed: The Run. It's fast-paced, sleek, sexy and gritty, and we could easily see it, starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox's lips, in the previews before The Rum Diary. However, EA would have to change the name. Need for Speed: Rise of the Runatron, would work, we think.
Michael Bay trailer for Need for Speed: The Run doesn't remind us of anything

I think the chopping editing ruined it - not keeping with any shot longer than a couple seconds so you can never see much of what's going on. Imagine if you actually had to play a game that changed camera angles every two seconds...

Bay came up from directing commercials and music videos. The attention span of the average consumer that eats that type of content up is what bay understands best so you cant just do a long shot, you have to do a long sloooo-moooo shot book ended by a massive explosion with lots of carnage so that the viewer will pay attention when you do slow down but wont be too bored before the next batch of quick cuts and explosions.

So if he wins he gets $25 million and if he loses then he's dead? Does he really need both incentives? I would think not dying is enough.

@Hoops Well, you know how much gas does a supercar need to do a coast-to-coast travel? And don't forget about new tires, brakes, oil, speeding tickets...

You owe money? Here's a really fast car, break many laws and try not to kill yourself behind the wheel. Once you win the money, the bad guys who are out to kill you will nicely take their cut and everything will be just dandy.
Pretty sure she's not helping.

Then why don't you just play last years game and don't even buy this game.... Ps: that is the most metally challenged type of comment that irritate the s*** out of me.... Your mentality Is why a lot of companies continue to do the same crap over and over agin... They know most people lack severe imagination and money talks and creativity along with innovative games walk...... So thank you sir for being part of the majority of people that contribute to recycled franchises...... Really, thank you!!!!!!! (pss)

Well it certainly explains 00:45 - 00:50 bit... Otherwise, it's no more than the usual game trailer.

I was actually about to say the same. If they made a Cannonball Run game like this, I'd actually dedicate the rest of my life to buying copies of it. Even THINKING of that orangutan & Tony Danza driving a limo through that valley with the avalanche? No words.

Regardless of how you feel about Bay's movies... You have to admit he makes great trailers.
It's like his filming style is just suited for them more.

I can't wait for the inevitable re edit of this movie where clips of Shia LeBouf are cut in of him yelling "Nononononoonononono!" every time his life is in danger... come to think of it for the longest I've been feeling like "Jack" seems familiar somehow, like he's based on an actor. and after seeing this I thin he looks a lot like Lebouf with his head shaved!

So then there'll be a truck and it'll be like BRAAAAAAAAAGHSPHOOOOOO!
I actually kind of liked it though. The gameplay footage I've seen is pretty much what's in the trailer, explosions included.

The title should be, "Michael Bay's Editor cuts a trailer for "Need For Speed: The RUN" I guarantee Michael Bay had very little to do with it. Props to the Editor, whoever he may be.

So essentially this is Cannonball Run The Video Game (Bayafide)? There's even a shot at the gas station that's pretty much a direct rip off of a shot from the first Cannonball run. Now, if Dom Delouise and Burt Reynolds were playable and I was racing against Dean Marting and Sammy Davis Junior dressed as priests I might be interested.
