BioWare's next IP teased with Uncharted-esque car flipping action shot
73
Wondering what BioWare's next, unannounced project is? So are we! Game Informer has the exclusive on the first teaser image (seen above), and promises all will be revealed at next month's Spike Video Game Awards show. We've got high hopes that your eyes are sharper than ours, because we're not seeing much here other than the obvious: the dude flying from the car appears to be black, wearing a chain of bullets, and ... uh ... maybe he's being attacked by the smoke monster? Like you, we'll find out when the VGAs air on December 10.

@Lone Starr I'm with you on that. Whatever Bioware puts out is gold but I would really appreciate if they came back to the Jade Empire franchise.

"Whatever Bioware puts out is gold"
This is what people actually believe. Ridiculous, when you consider their last game was a complete travesty in almost every regard and half their games this generation have wish fulfillment style storytelling on par with a Stephine Meyer novel. The Bioware I knew died shortly after they signed with EA, who is like a virus perpetuating their corpse trying to hide that fact from us. They better not touch the Jade Empire IP unless they get rid of that virus and purge most of their writers who are more suited to poorly written fan fiction. I'm prepared for down votes from oblivious Bioware fans and people in general who still conform to the elementary school of, "If you don't have something nice to say don't say anything."

Why thank you. Thank you for opening my eyes and showing me I'm oblivious. I also had no idea opinions could be wrong before I saw this. Truly this post has changed my life.
OT: I really can't make a judgment off of one single image. I'll have to wait for the trailer before I can sum up my thoughts completely.

While calling DA2 a travesty is a overly dramatic, I can't help but agree with Mecha. It did have way to much fan service just for the sake of doing so, and a lot of it at the expense of being a good game. I'd be interested in another Jade Empire, but I do have my reservations about Bioware after DA2 and the fiasco that is becoming ME3.

I never said anything about someones opinion being "wrong". Opinions aren't right or wrong, they're just good or bad, educated or uneducated, ect. "Whatever Bioware puts out is gold", is more than a terrible opinion, it borders on near delusion (i.e. fanboyism). Furthermore, I don't think it's fair for you to use sarcasm and your try-hard display of wit to counter my comments unless you actually want to argue that DA2 wasn't a terribly rushed hack job and that ME2 didn't pander to unacceptable levels and cut corners in general. Albeit nowhere near to the same extent as DA2, but still.

Well l look at it like this...DA2 by itself is not a travesty, it's just a bad game. DA2 being the sequel to Dragon Age which was a fantastic game (one EA didn't have their mitts on much) IS indeed a travesty for video games.

I personally loved both ME1 and ME2. Both had advantages over the other in different ways I still feel like BioWare is really trying to figure out how to make the ideal hybrid of the two genres. Hopefully with 3, they'll finally hit the right note.
I'll agree, DA2 was a huge disappointment. I actually liked it but at the same time was bummed about how much of a wasted opportunity it was due to how rushed it was.
Maybe I overreacted to the post and for that I apologize.

You know, while I share your opinion, you probably were downvoted for being overly dramatic and even went meta about it (as in was dramatic about you being dramatic).
If people were so inclined to the opinion you countered, as your post implies to be your supposition, the guy would've gotten upvoted and, as of the time of this posting, it doesn't seem to be the case.

Whether I agree with your or not, gotta give you props for calling these people out. So annoying seeing people apologize for their opinions cuz they don't wanna get downvoted. Defeats the whole purpose of a comment box.

I completely respect your right to dislike things.
Offering a counter-opinion: DA2 is extremely enjoyable. I only hope that they will revisit that world again with DA3, combining the swifter engine and interface improvements with DA's bigger world.
And most (myself included) seem to feel that ME2 is one of the greatest games of all time. I revisited ME1 recently , and the framerate dips (especially in combat - a big no-no) really started to bum me out.

Shattered Steel? A remake of the first game developed by BioWare in 1996?
Featured mechs and aliens and a desolate future landscape? Maybe? Possibly?
Probably not, though. Time to go for wishful thinking:
INTERSTATE 82!

Well we know one thing for sure, it has at least one car crash.
Kind hoping we don't get another post apocalyptic wasteland thing. While I'm sure BioWare can do it well, and make it a unique and interesting experience, I'd like to see 'em try something that hasn't been so prevalent the last few of years.
I can't really seem to get anything out of this image though, and I stared for a good long time. Maybe if the car wasn't completely destroyed we'd be able to figure something out about it.

I predict that this article will be filled with comments about how this means Bioware is selling out & dumbing down their games for the mainstream audience...
All based on one screenshot & zero other information.

Nothing about that article says that their big, PC/360/PS3 games will be dumbed down or decrease in quality.
It does say that they're spreading out, making smaller games for other platforms, like Facebook and IOS, and that "It's relative to the genre or the platform that that product is being served on." Iwaniuk said that while sales or ratings might have been indicators of game quality in the past, these new platforms call for other "key performance indicators," like player engagement or just simple awareness.
So, logic fail.

No, history tells us that. They have repeatedly stated they, and I quote, "Want COD's audience." So they do shit like shoehorn multiplayer into ME3 and turn Dragon Age 2 into a messy fanfic. There is plenty to show just in how they've been outwardly handling ME3 to be really worried.

1. Of course they want that audience. They're a business. Admittedly that was a pretty dumb thing to say.
2. Too early to judge multiplayer, though if the singleplayer is just what we expect, then I don't see why multiplayer is such an issue. Just don't play it.
3. DAII was handled by a different team of writers. If you're worried about ME3, well, I wouldn't be.
4. What's wrong with their handling of ME3? The leak was Microsoft's fault, if that's what you're referencing.

What was that game that came out a years ago, on the original Xbox and PS2, the one where you would crash your car, and try and eject the driver into different obstacles? Maybe it's a remake of that?
