I don't know about you, but I'm far more interested in a refined gameplay experience than slightly better graphics. If I could have both, sure, why not, but if I'm only getting one, I choose gameplay.

@phillibuster the gameplay has felt tighter for each installment for me so maybe this will be even better. and I always thought the graphics looked great! except dem shadows.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but that was what I was getting at. The gameplay (in addition to the storyline) are what keep me coming back to this franchise. I have a few quibbles with some of the secondary animations and such, but overall, the game is rather beautiful and engaging.

Looking at your recent comments, I find your opinion of what games need new engines rather amusing.

I think it's funny that they actually did change their game engine when they made Brotherhood, so... moot point is moot?

@Vladeon leave my ES fanboyism out of this, interesting to note, at no point did i say this game was terrible, i just wished they presented this storyline and gameplay on a much more engaging medium. the cinematics have always sucked.

Awesome trailer. Missing something, though...

..needs more dubstep!

;)

Of course, this just reminds me that I need to hurry the frak up and finish AC2 and AC:B..

@Dirty They are different, it is sad that sometimes they are mixed up... then again most of the time (at least in the US) they call EDM, techno |:

Techno covers alot. If you ask me, dubstep, bit tunes, drumb&bass, and all that other stuff is all forms of Techno.

Its not. Common misconception but techno is not the mother genre of all electronic music. I don't wanna engage in a genre war but you should look it up. For example, Dnb came from Jungle, which stylistically derived from funk and reggae.

This confusion is why I just lump all my music under broad categories, like 'electronic' and 'soundtrack.'

I'll forgive you because the mainstream is always mixing up music genres. I remember nearly screaming at the screen when I saw Blade Trilogy in the cinema and one of the main characters was listening to "trip hop"... It wasn't trip hop.

Anyway, dubstep has actually more in common with what is actually trip hop than it does Drum'n'bass. Although, it probably came about from a mixture of UK Garage, Dub and trip hop. But I'm not sure.

For some reason this reminds me of the "Ska" conversation from Police Squad

That, my good sir, is just fine. I'd rather have people do that than arrogantly claim that "this is all just techno anyways" :P

Seems odd to use that music so soon after it was used in a big trailer.

I think I love these games because of the historically (for the most part) accurate landscapes.

After Brotherhood, I'm still dying to go to Rome.

True story, we were planning a trip to Italy not long after AC2 came out. I actually found the location of the hotel we were staying at in Florence in AC2 and climbed up on the roof of it to see where it was located (how close to the Duomo).

It wasn't a perfect representation of the hotel (the structure was square instead of rounded like the real one), but the street/courtyard was the same and more importantly the view from the roof was exactly the same as it was from our hotel. It's pretty remarkable that they got it nailed down that closely to the real thing.

I'll never get what the fascination is with dubstep... it just sounds like horrible, annoying noises to me.... So, I'm glad this trailer is free of that.

Anyone else notice that he threw a weapon? Is that new or did I just miss that in the prior games?

@Duc748s he could in brotherhood. I only know cause there is an achievement using the throw mechanic. stand far enough away with a throwing-ish weapon and hold the attack button.

It needs to be a two-handed weapon. Pretty sure that if you are at a distance and you hold down the attack button, you'll throw it.

Yea that would be true but we do get both. Look at the graphics in AC2 and then in this game. Pretty big leap plus the new facial technology is awsome. Hell it's a big leap from Brotherhood to.

This is THE game I am looking forward to most this year. Sure, I am loving Batman: AC and Deus Ex so far has been my personal favorite game this year. But AC's story and gameplay have a hold on my heart and that no other game has done since Half-Life 2.

So glad it doesn't have dubstep. Any game I see with a dubstep trailer now is an auto-no sale. That's just how it has to be.

ARgh! So much to play, gotta finish KOTOR and KOTOR 2 before TOR, I've got to finish the DLC for AC2 and finish Brotherhood. At least I'm done Batman except for Riddler challenges and I'm not all that in to Skyrim (not slagging just not my bag the crazy big open world.) Decisions decisions. :-/
