Well at least Activision, was honest with PC gamers. XD Call of Duty Elite wasn't even ready at all.

I guess that will be one of the few times Activision is honest to PC gamers.

Why is the creating of clans being left out of these talks? I understand everything else but when can we make clans? when will that part of the service be up?

@Adventfire

I think the answer to that is "they don't know." Hopefully sooner than later – CLAN JOYSTIQ needs to be born!

Rumor has it the video recording is what's causing much of the latency issues. Apparently if the host has video recording turned off it makes a big difference.

Personally, if it's a choice between recording the game and actually playing the game (at it's full potential), I'd take the latter. Still enjoying the game despite this.

@Vulgarrr If that is TRUE then I love you. Everytime when I am the host, I lag, every 5 seconds. I'm gonna try this and see if it works.

Let's be realistic.

If MW3 had dedicated servers, the game would be on the same footing as BF3.

However, growing pains only lasts a week or two.

Having to switch host midgame, the host having an advantage, and differential peer to peer connection will be constantly be a part of the game.

Don't forget that battlelog wasn't crippled by registrations. :P

@SirUrza Don't forget that while BF3 is an amazing game, it doesn't have even close to the number of users MW3 already has.

Elite is completely unusable for me on PC, but I haven't had a single problem with it on my PS3. Still haven't gotten my founder status and accompanying unlocks, but I'll live. So far it's kind of slow, but it's clean and easy to use. Looking forward to using more of it's features.

@King Johngie the Fourth

Other than the initial attempts to sign in, I haven't had issues with the PS3 app either. Just wish I could join/create groups and clans from the console app though. Then I would be totally content.

Haha ya. Since so few people can get in, an upside is that the people enlisting in the tournies and challenges are few in number. I mean, I just earned a gold badge (i.e. top 10% of all people who joined) for playing like two hours of headquarters pro :)

Not surprising given the size of the launch.

Still smells like failure tho.

How is it that these large companies with hugely popular games are never prepared for the audience that they always predict to sell to?

"We had no idea millions of people would be registering for Call of Duty services right after its release date."

Really?

@Lerkero I have to believe it costs too much to scale for initial demand, so they just scale for average demand and hope for the best.

They know the demand for the service will spike massively in the first few days, but that ongoing demand will be much lower. But building scale for a massive spike in users that will only last one or two days is really expensive, so they only scale for ongoing demand. Then, the game comes out and they ride out the spike in demand, having saved a boatload by not spending all that money to handle a 2 day spike.

I bet even now, the beachhead guys are sitting around waiting for everyone to forget about Elite, so demand goes down to predicted normal levels. Then, they'll flip the switch and say "hey guys look! Everything's fixed!"

Seriously?! Chacko Sonny and Daniel Suarez you should start looking for a new job! There have been way more complex IT projects delivered in the last 20 years than CoD with 6 million users.

We're in an economic downturn and there are millions of talented IT people who could deliver a scalable IT infrastructure better than the shit "Beachhead Studios" have delivered to their users.

I'm now waiting for the press release to say that these 2 jokers are looking for new opportunities elsewhere.

Activision you've a $1 billion in your pocket - start recruiting some real IT experts.

Players still have stable, unfettered access to Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer......uhh since the patch released yesterday, I wouldn' call the game stable. Unless super lag is a new perk someone has that I don't know about. Voice chat also sucks everyone sounds like their talking from out of a tin can. Lots of fixing that need to be done to this game. At the moment I would say they have taken a step back from Blops but that's just my opinion.

I'm glad I didn't pay for this. I know they gave subscribers one free month for all the troubles but what if they don't have it up and running smooth by 12-8-11? Those of you that paid keep an eye out for when Elite is fully functional! You did pay for it!

Still broken but I don't care. I paid to get the $20 discount on the map packs (Hardend Edition) not to see stats.
