*facepalm*

but that is pretty good business for Capcom. It takes almost nothing to produce one outfit for an already rendered character, make it four? Still nothing.

yet, Capcom sells this for $3 a pack to millions of people.

It's astounding how people eat this crap up. The game industry is in a downward spiral because of these type of tactics.

The "costume packs" are all locked on the disc. They'lre all a 100KB unlock file that just unlocks what you've already bought.

It's obvious that Capcom still doesn't know how to program expansion packs or proper DLC, as evidenced by the fact that everyone has to re-buy the game rather than just release a DLC expansion that turns your original "Fate of Two Worlds" disc into Ultimate MvsC3.

It's painful to be a Capcom fan today. They need a wake-up call.

It's rather painfully simple. Most of those costumes, like anything else, are nothing more complex than the recolors you see in older games. It's nothing but a shift of the graphics. Tron Bonne's mech for instance, same model and everything. It's just the skin of it was recolored.

@Cleric reskins are all the rage for Mugen... if ppl have been doint reskins for pc games. Street fighter 4 was loaded with fan made ones and movesets assigned to different fighters.seems pretty easy considering ppl had to make there own tools.so there actually is a step by step.

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition DLC for $15 says hi.
Its not that they don't know how to make this stuff downloadable later on, its just better to come up with it in the development process. For example, the first run of Street Fighter IV costumes were all on the disc, and the second run was made for Super Street Fighter IV. The third run of costumes was all brand new though and was not on disc. It's just easier to spend the funding on it ahead of time and release it later. So they charge money for disc-locked content, a lot of companies do. Heck, that's practically what every XBLA and PSN demo do when they want you to buy the unlock key to the full game.

To be fair, if you are meaning download titles it makes sense. Most of the games aren't TOO large, so if the person enjoys the game enough to buy it its as simple as clicking "Buy now" and a 1-2 second download. And if they don't, its a simple process to remove them from the hard drive.

@DevilSei But most of them AREN'T complex recolors. Most of them have different geometry. However, to know that, you would actually have to look at them. :\

It's 1 to 2 seconds because you already downloaded the game when you downloaded the demo, buying the game is just an unlock key. You already did the game download.

Wow Capcom is slapping us Megaman X fans in the face....

Frank west gets an X alternate costume.
Teasing us with a picture from the comic.

And now ZERO has an X skin!!!!

Come on Crapcom, you should of made X in the first place not some lousy skin

@jmacri44 I keep hearing this everywhere, but really, I feel it's more capcom throwing you guys a bone somewhat. I'm pretty sure they had no intention of putting in X and after they heard the cries they at LEAST decided to put in a costume for you guys instead of just absolutely nothing.

I understand but when Capcom-Unity, had two fan polls with X winning each poll by a landslide for most requesr DLC CHARACTER!! Not Skin..

Capcom makes the excuse that he wouldnt be iterated to the game well enough but yet somehow they included mega man in the first 2.

Capcom is just a lazy company. X Fans enjoy that we got zero, but thats like having Mario without Luigi, Sonic without Tails. Mega Man has been shafted by Capcom since Infuane left and its really a shame.

@Calatia People still do, though. Having an option doesn't make it any less of a problem when more companies are doing things like this.

But I can see why some people don't mind having to buy things that used to be earn-able extra content.

Hey now, you're the one trying to argue a completely optional thing that never existed before is something you can't ignore.

No need to whipping out the "someone's paying you to type this, aren't they?" card when you're already being unreasonable.

It a indicator that you're either trollin' or someone that overreacts to everything on the internet (and thus attract trolls like a Billy Goat).

I really hope that Capcom continues to do this NOT because people are buying costume DLC but because they want people to THINK that costume DLC is popular.

Please don't buy costume DLC. Eventually they will either stop making it or put the costumes back in the game as extra free content.

Tron? I think that's a typo and is supposed to be Thor. It's a shame you have to buy these things in packs, as there are a few I'd buy for $1-1.50 each, but I usually only want one in the pack. If I was tempted by any pack it'd be the Thor pack, I like those skins overall and you get a bonus 5th skin.
