@tanooki equipped Ugh, finally. An honest review. I'm tired of gaming sites not giving games perfect scores.
It sickens me.

@wqerty Batman is based on the comic -_-

I thought Wolverine: Origins was decent though and then there's Spiderman 2...I liked Scarface: The World is Yours as well.

James Bond: Quantum of Solace, James Bond: From Russia with Love, Transformers: War for Cybertron, oh, and obviously James Bond 007: Goldeneye.

Few and far between. I remember a bunch of the 90s Disney movie games (Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Lion King) for NES and Genesis being pretty good. The Captain America one that came out this summer was actually suprisingly competent, granted it was pretty much an Arkham Asylum knockoff, but still probably worth $15 or $20.

Goldeneye (despite coming out quite a bit after the movie), Spiderman 2, X-men Origins: Wolverine (the game blew the movie out of the water) were all awesome. some okay ones are Captain America and Tron: Evolution. movie-tie in games aren't ALWAYS terrible; it's just rare for them to be above average.

It's funny that you mentioned those first 2 007 games because my personal favorites (non-Goldeneye) were The World is Not Enough and Blood Stone, neither of which were based on the movies. Something about being able to use the license but not being bound to a release date, I suppose.

The World's Not Enough was a Bond Movie though. A terrible one at that, so you not knowing it was a Bond movie is probably a good thing.

@baby sea tuna Speaking of 007 games...I LOVED Everything or Nothing. So perfectly executed. Here's the attention to detail they did. The first time you play the game it starts off with standard fare tutorial mission where you have to prevent some arms deal from going down with requisite exploding helicopter. Only after you beat the tutorial does the opening credits start (with Mya on vocals for the title song).

Not a bad review at all it's more fair than some of the other reviews have been. personally though I really like the game and would put it in the 8-9 range. Especially if you're a big JP fan like me.

God dang it, that's not what I wanted to hear. Still, I guess I'll download the demo (if there is one) and try it out for myself before making any judgements.

56/100 score on metacritic though... hmm.

@Hank Hill The reason it has such a low MC score is because TellTale developers were posting perfect 10 scores of the game to MC, and in a fit of outrage, people started posting revenge scores of 2 or lower, dragging down the average.

@StormEagle The 56/100 score (it's 57 for xbox360 and 55 for pc) is actually the aggregate score from professional reviews; that's got nothing to do with users on metacritic downvoting it. the user scores are 2.8 and 3.1 out of 10 respectively. ouch.

There should be no shock and awe when it comes to licensed games anymore. We all know the lay of the land. This review is spot on because it tells us what we already know (or could have guessed) and remains calm and level headed doing so.

Am I the only one who noticed they were never good developers to start with and they were taking on projects that were over their head? I'm so surprised companies just handed over their license to these guys and we could of seen some amazing things if the license was just given to someone else.

My thing there is didn't seem any companies were dying to make JP or BF games though. Since more than enough time was available for people to pick them up.

I thought the Sam and Max games were pretty good. Tales of Monkey Island worked pretty well, too (although not on the Wii).

Back to the Future... er... well, lets just say that the plot was OK, but the controls and graphics weren't so hot.

Jurassic Park removed TellTale's best element (puzzles) and tried to get by on its worst element (graphics).

I actually really loved and enjoyed this game.

However, I couldn't recommend paying $30 USD (or even $40 USD for the disc based 360 version). I got it for free with renewing my Plus subscription, so my opinion is based on me enjoying the game and not really spending money on it.

If you love Jurassic Park, then you'll really enjoy the game, just not at $30 USD

I am genuinely baffled at the bad press this game is getting. For me JP has been such as goddamned nail biter that I've had to put it down from the amount of good stress.

Am I like the only man left on earth who shits bricks at a T-rex menacing a young girl or gets a thrill of fear from barely dodging a horrible death underfoot of a giant beast?

The tension for me in this game is constantly ramped to 11/10 and the characters are the best written I've seen in a game for quite some time.

@Spino Prime Take off your tinfoil hat guy I just really enjoy the game. Maybe I just got lucky but I never really got drowned in QTE games so it's felling more like Heavy Rain which I liked and less like whatever pissed of so many people.

But no I don't work at Telltale, in fact this is my first game from them so maybe that helps a bit.

@yomachaser It was a joke, if you didn't realize. I personally, don't have a problem with this game and I do realize that this kind of game would have appeal with plenty of people not working at Telltale. Perhaps I should have included an /s tag beside the post. I didn't think anyone was actually ridiculous enough to make assertions like that here, and that it would come off as an obvious joke at the current situation like I intended it to. My apologies that you took my post the wrong way and were offended.
