Investing in ostentatious sword-arms is a lot easier today, with Steam chopping 50 percent off the price of Deus Ex: Human Revolution in its Autumn Sale. That lowers it to $24.99, alongside The Missing Link DLC -- also discounted to $7.49.
Dead Island receives its own dramatic reversal in price ($24.99), as does Telltale's Back to the Future series ($9.99). The Serious Sam HD double pack is quite the temptation at $2.99, but we've vowed to do something more constructive this weekend. Why not administer intravenous therapy to an ailing patrician for $6.79?

It should be noted that Serious Sam HD: Gold Edition, which has the double pack PLUS the original versions of First and Second Encounter, is $4. The extra dollar is worth it.

Thank you god of sales. Now, how many sacrifices do I need to give you to get, even a 33% off deal, on Sonic Generations?

Has it been mentioned yet that you can get every GTA game ever for only $12.49?

This is at least the second Steam story on Joystiq today about Steam's autumn sale. How about giving some of the other digital distribution sales?

Star Wars: KOTOR reminds me I've only played it 1/2 way through. Should go back to it some time. Should also play that Mass Effect I got cheap on the Spring sale.

I've been considering Dead Island. What don't you like about it?

well for one the story practically doesn't even exist ans the combat is very awkward. be prepared to repair your weapon like practically every five minutes. all in all id recommend you just put in an extra 5$ and get deus ex and get a much better experience.

Having played through it twice now, I'll agree about the story, but I found the game itself to be one of the most fun games I have played in along time. I love skyrim to death, and I know they have many more enemy body types to death with, but whenever I play skrim and use melee combat, I can't help but think how awesome it would be if you could target and break/cut off limbs like you can in dead island.
Repairing your weapon is part of the game, yes, but your not repairnig it every 5 minutes. As the game goes on you have a range of more weapons you carry, and ones with higher durability you should use for your run of hte mill zombies to keep your repairs down. Plus there are skills that increase your durability as well. But i digress.
This seems like one of those love it or hate it games, but if you had any interest at all in it, or enjoy zombie games, you could do worse then get this game at 1/2 off.

I just wanted to mention that Dead Island is only $19.99, not $24.99. More reason to pick it up people!

For those that didn't pick it up during the indie royal, Sanctum for $2.50 is an absolute steal. Tower defense is way more fun when you can run around with a sniper rifle.

You mean the game that has been pegged as GotY by multiple sources? The highly anticipated, and successful, sequel to one of the best CRPG's ever? The game Extra Credits just spent an entire episode explaining just how amazingly good it is? [ http://penny-arcade.com/patv/episode/deus-ex-human-revolution ]
Nah, wait for the Steam Winter sale ;)

Ugh, I picked up both Dead Island and Deus Ex: HR, ended up being disappointed with both. I finished Deus Ex, but it didn't really feel deep in any aspect to me. Dead Island was pretty bad, couldn't even make it through the third act. If I would have got these both for the price they are now, I wouldn't have felt so ripped off.

damn, i was anticipating for Dead Island and Deus Ex HR, but after reading some comments abt them here, somehow my interest went down. Should I or shouldn't i get it? Or mayb i should wait for a bigger discount
