I wasnt a fan of Call of Juarez: The Cartel , if they do make another I hope they go back to the others.

I kind of enjoyed the story of Bound in Blood.

@Faenix

Me too, and judging for the questions they ask it looks like the next one will be a return to the western roots, where the game should´ve never left.... but as always UBI finds a way to crash a good franchise.....

@Faenix

Bound in Blood was very enjoyable.

I think the Cartel probably suffered since Techland was also working Dead Island?

How the hell did they get investors to go for a sequel to this? I would love to have been at that board meeting.

Whatever option puts Call of Juarez back in the wild west like it should be. The Cartel was a disaster.

Wow... talk about a lazy list, practically each and every one of those are bloody common cliche's from the Wild West genre.

But hey, if this means they might be bringing it back into the Wild West again, I might not care...

Bound in Blood was actually pretty decent. I was disappointed they decided to go "modern."

Extra Credits made an episode pointing out all the reasons this is a lazy, racist, all-around terrible game. Ubisoft take note.

After watching that, the very last thing I want for them to try to do is have the player defend "a train attacked by Native Americans on horses."
Red Dead Redemption did a really good job portraying Native Americans. I have no faith in this Ubisoft team's ability to do the same. They'd probably just become faceless goons for the player to shoot at because "they're robbing a train! Why do them Injuns always cause such a fuss?"
Ugh.

@Burnflare Extra Credits is amazing. So glad they exist. Not so glad that Juarez exists or that a sequel might be getting considered, ugh. Did it really sell that well?

@whylekat

I'd hope they don't. As a PC gamer, I've never played red dead so I have no idea how that game is like, plus im not into third person games all that much. The first two COJ games were the only true wild west themed FPS's that I believe I've ever played, and that alone set them apart from the hordes of generic FPS games out there because the setting was new and interesting to me. The storylines weren't half bad and at least had a little heft to them rather than the sub 5 hour affair I got out of mw3 and most fps's recently.

I didn't buy COJ The Cartel simply because of the modern setting and because I won't buy anything that might have ubisoft's DRM, so I don't know how bad that game really was, but if they make a new one that goes back to the roots of the first two, and is guaranteed not to have DRM beyond steam and/or a cd key then I'll buy.

@aea0a095

I agree but at the same time Call of Juarez was pretty much Call of Duty but in the old west. The gameplay mechanics were almost identical. It's just not my style.

@aea0a095 So, you didn't play the cartel because of it's DRM, but you hope they don't kill off the franchise? It's very likely that if and when they make another sequel it'll have the same DRM that kept you away from the cartel...

I thought it was Rockstar's checklist for making RDR.

I liked the first game. I absolutely loved the second game.

The Cartel? Burn in hell forever.

But going back to the west? Lets hope they can redeem themselves.

Glad to see another person who liked the second. Too many people forget it in the wake of Red Dead Redemption. Obviously, RDR was better (and not linear like CoJ), but Bound in Blood was a decent game and it looked great.

How about not an insensitive pile of garbage like the last title? Why not stick with the more "fantastical" cowboy element and leave the procedural modern schlock off the table.

i loved COJ 1 and 2 but the cartel was very bad. i thing they should map COJ 4 a oepn world game. it would be great to explorer the wild west in FPS. exploring towns/Indian villages/man hunts. one of the things i would like to see is your actions mean something in COJ. if i go around killing people i start to get a bad reputation and people will be afraid of me or want to fight me because of my reputation. linear game play should be scrapped for the open world

i cant see COJ 4 being bad because COJ TC was so bad it can only go up from here.

@dblue

They should simply go back to the west, and stick to a semi-linear campaign. Leave sandbox to Rockstar. There's no reason the market can't have 2 western themed games.

@Brian Griffin yes i know what your saying but watch this video of COJ 1. you can get out of the linear of the game "glitch" and see how much land there is in this game that isnt being used. i would like them to use as much old west as they can :)
