It's clear that most people on that forum have never played a Bethesda game except for Skyrim. "OMG THEY BETTER RECALL ALL COPIES AND HAVE A PUBLIC APOLOGY" Bethesda isn't perfect, but at least they're trying to fix the problems right now, though I can't say the same for past PS3 versions of Bethesda games.

Well they never played daggerfall at least. Otherwise they wouldn't be crying out for VENGEANCE.

So far 1 broken quest out of like a hundred. Not bad.

@NPTran23,

you cant allow a video game company to hype the sh*t out of a game for 2 years, then release it...in this state of condition.

They should have pushed the release date down a few months ahead of November, and just have everyone in the company play on the actual full-version of the game, and test it for a few months before release.

Testing insues = bugs found.
Patches insue = no bugs.

Gaming Community IMPRESSED.

Bethesda is relieved of stress.

Learn from this, Bethesda!

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. I agree wholeheartedly. I don't think any company should get a free pass just because of the perceived quality of their games.

Maybe it's a PC gamer mentality, but before developers could patch their games for consoles if it shipped broken, it never got fixed. That was what made for a bad game.

I've been playing Skyrim for three weeks and I love it, but at the same time I hate that it has so many stupid bugs and glitches. Trying to experience a game and a story like this certainly is hard when it freezes or stutters or horses collapse through the world.

I've put about 50 hours into the PC version and have had only one glitch, and maybe 8-10 random crashes.

I'm not sure what "state of condition" your product came in, but the "state of condition" of mine is just dandy and I'm loving it.

I've played gazillions of games for dozens of hours without them EVER crashing. That should really be the standard, don't you think?

@Deadstarone,

I'm not sure why we are getting downgraded either.

Plus there are those stupid people who, even during a time then the other person/company (in this case Bethesda) is WRONG and GUILTY of something THEY DID (or LET HAPPEN), they come to it's/their defense like it's a member of their own family...even when it affects them.

I see this bugs/glitches issue with Bethesda like...

...a woman(Bethesda) who is pregnant(making Skyrim), who constantly smokes, drinks, does drugs, etc, and everyone is telling her "don't do that! it'll hurt the baby!".

Well...once the baby (we'll call him Skyrim) is born, it's sadly got some problems that it'll have for the rest of it's life (glitches, bugs, crashes, etc) and all the people in the room are angry at the woman for not BEING SAFE AND CAUTIOUS BEFORE HAVING SKYRIM, but, stupidly, they defend the woman (Bethesda) and say "well....she's a teenager! you can't expect a teenager to not smoke drink do drugs etc when it's pregnant!".

Bethesda did a bunch of stuff while making Skyrim. Now that it's been released there are tons of bugs, glitches, crashes etc, not only for Xbox 360 and PC, but also for the pathetic embarassing 2-day process of porting it to the Playstation 3.

Because of the mother's irresponsibility and laziness, while making a beautiful baby Skyrim, it was born and now it's got issues that's gonna need medication (Patches).

Maybe she'll have another baby down the line WITHOUT all these problems, issues, etc (SKYRIM GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION).

Thats *IF Skyrim get's GOTY.

I know I've been having some severe performance issues on the PC version. One trick I found is to hit Ctrl + Alt + Del followed by Esc, and suddenly the game runs normally again.

Of course, I'm running it in a borderless window, with the 4GB memory enabler, custom FXAA shaders and tons of custom high-res textures, so I can't rule out the possibility that it's my fault.

Do you have frame rate issues in the "Thieves Guild Base"?

It can't be my computer (580 with 8GB RAM, and Intel i7 2600k), and it only happens there. The frame rate probably drops by a little more than half, I'd say it drops to 25fps. It isn't that big of a deal, I watched my friend play it on 360 last night and it runs around 30fps for a majority of the game but I was just wondering if I was the only one that had this issue.

Other than that, I've had no issues other than 3 crashes.

Also, quicksave is the best thing ever. Oh and mods. That night sky one is amazing.

My framerate drops to single digits the instant I load my game, no matter the location. The workaround I posted gets it back up to >30 fps every time and is the only thing that does.

I don't know if that will help you. The entire Thieves Guild area runs about the same as everywhere else for me.

The LAA enabler made by someone not working for Bethesda seems to be the only way I can play this game without it crashing every hour.

Bethesda can rush to introduce a DRM patch that causes problems but they still can't get a patch out that stops the crashes it causes? Yet somebody not working for them can do it a day or two?

I'll have to give that a shot, I honestly never see it drop below 60fps unless it's a load screen (30 always) or the Guild (25).

I will count myself lucky.

Ok, I aggressively use British English to assert myself as a not-American on the internet. I can respect that. But you're wrong in this case.

You use programme most of the time (i.e. "I picked up a concert programme" or "That's not scheduled on the programme"), BUT if you're specifically referring to computer software you drop the -me ending no matter where you're from.

So tone down the douchey Europeon superiority.

I have a PS3 copy with no performance issues. I imagine it's challenging for Bethesda to decipher the mounds of complaints and what really matters. I'm sure some people write long e-mails for a quick drop in frame rate or a freeze after 12 hours straight, lol. But I sympathize with anyone having significant issues and hope Bethesda saw those complaints and is able to address them.

Either way, this is a WONDERFUL game that every gamer should experience.

You got lucky. Don't know if it's your model PS3, your save file is miniscule, or you haven't played it enough.

All it took for me was a save file over 6~7 megabytes and 45min to an hour of playtime before I had to restart the game.

It wasn't some "lol my framerate dropped for a few seconds" problem either, it was sustained choppiness that made the game hard to play. The only way to get it to stop was restarting the game.

These days every game has a patch within a month if not a few days after its release. Developers use patches as a crutch to push games out more frequently. My game froze only a few hours after playing, so I'm a bit puzzled how if a good QA team couldn't have found it given a proper amount of time.

The PS3 version came out of pure greed. It's a port made by a parallel team of a few guys. A console game freezing and running badly? That shouldn't be acceptable.

The videogame industry used to have some dignity. Even crappy games went through extensive QA to assure constant framerate and error-free gameplay. Now they have a couple of kids playing the main quest a few times to check if the game is alright.

They should release their games only to PC platforms (PC and Xbox360)

I have it for the PS3 and I didn't have any performance issues until I had about 90 hours or so on my character. The framerate drops to single digits when I'm in specific areas. Whiterun is pretty bad and the Rift is just horrendous. When I'm in small areas like caves and castles it's fine, but there's definitely some issues.

The weird thing is my brother doesn't have framerate issues even though we play on the same PS3. I think part of it might have to do with me playing so much longer than him meaning more completed quests, cleared dungeons, etc. so there's more info for me to load. I noticed my save file has gradually been growing in size (it's 15MB now) and my brothers is almost half of that (about 9MB) so that might be a factor.

I'm still having fun with the game, but when the framerate gets so low that you're just looking at still pictures it's kinda frustrating to play.

Yeah, I definitely noticed that trend as well. My save files started off in the 3-4 GB range, they're slowly climbing to 5-6.

Sounds like the slowdown is going to be horrendous, I hope Bethesda fixes this soon. Seems like a similar problem with Fallout 3, I can barely even play the first expansion now without my ps3 freezing up or just having massive slowdown.
