Yes it is definitely Sarcasm.

Actual Fixes: Subtract everything from FF1-12 from FF13. The result is FF13, which is a terrible game in comparison to any FF. It has two character statistics. TWO!!!

It has to be with a statement like this. "Square Enix had the right idea for Final Fantasy XIII, selling the game without any towns, interesting dungeons, or fun."

Not only that, but every idea mentioned in the article are things that piss us consumers off. I can't stand knowing that when I can't resist temptation and buy a game new, that I'm not getting the entire game. Even worse, knowing I'm a sucker, because the game will eventually be out fully packaged with the DLC for nearly half the price.

By comparing Final Fantasy and CoD at all it has to be a joke. No one would do something THAT stupid intentionally.

See IGN. Can't find the article, but I know for a fact they have done it before right around the time CoD 4 was a big thing. It was also right around the time I stopped visiting that site entirely.

Saying Final Fantasy is still good is also a pretty good chunk of sarcasm in itself. I used to love the series, but it's taken a serious nose dive in the last 10 years.

I honestly agree with this semi.. Would like to add .. They need to change the combat system back to it was before before FF12 days.. maybe FF11 .. If I do recall you had old school style menu and you could move around while attacking.. I'm not sure if they had that in FF10.. I honestly do not remember.. Been so long.. But that old combat menu was the reason why I played final fantasy.. It was simple and easy to understand.. But now your having to shift paradigms .. whatever the shit that is.. which is annoying as hell.. -_-

@ChainSmoker The paradigm system isn't that much different from the jobs system in Final Fantasy Tactics. But instead of being open and flexible they compartmentalize everything, limiting what you're allowed to mix and match.

@Faceless Troll Personally.. It just confused me .. Especially having to switch mid combat repeatedly .. I honestly didn't like that part.. If anything I'll stick to White Knight Chronicles until FF13 VS. which seems like its turning out good..

@Faceless Troll There's no way that game on it's own would turn much of a profit considering how much money has been put into its development. I mean they're having to milk the crap out of FF13 for that very reason.

Gave up on writing poorly researched articles and decided to just go full satire, huh? Well, at least this is an improvement over your other work.

By the way, Vesperia does everything you said in the post, doesn't it? I kind of figured the Assassin's Creed costume was inspired by Bamco's success with bullcrap like Hatsune Miku and Code Geass costumes. Well, that was Tales of Graces, but Didn't Vesperia PS3 have something like that too...? I can't really remember.

@Yhynens Tales of Xillia has been selling lots of costumes too, and fans in the east do want costumes in FF, I do too D: guilty pleasure much? But yea... also when FFXIII came out, Square said no plans for DLC, the media over there kept asking and asking about it.. we'll FFXIII-2 now has DLC. You get what you ask for.

@Eniko I like the costumes usually, but I don't really agree with it as pay DLC. They're excellent as alternative endgame sidequest rewards when you don't really need more money or more items, since you're, you know, at the end of the game. I suppose costume DLC's also a working model for Riot Games. I kind of wonder how much revenue LoL gets solely off of its costumes, really... Must be enough to at least justify them continuing to produce costumes.

WTF are you on about? These are all terrible ideas that have nothing to do with Final Fantasy.

Wanna fix FF? Appreciate the series for what it is; a strong story based, tactical turn based RPG. What has hurt the series most is people like you trying to innovate rather than accept and love what made final fantasy great in the first place, random encounters and all.

If only Square would try to produce an instalment similar to 7, 8 and 9. With dynamic camera angles emphasising the environments instead of the rear end of your character. A world map that allows for exploration and a turn based battle system that actually allows you full control over your dudes instead of so desperately wanting to be an action RPG. >:(

How about an installment of what originally made the series great - Final Fantasy IV and VI. For the love of god, people, this franchise didn't START with VII.

"What's the magical formula for appealing to American tastes?"

REALLY? Appealing to american (majority) tastes is exactly what RUINED this franchise to begin with. It was better as a high quality series, revered by a minority of people that practically worshiped the SNES-era, story-driven JRPG.

Final Fantasy VII was a good (albeit convoluted) game, but it was the beginning of the decline of the series - not it's blossoming. I predicted it then, and I've been vindicated time and time again by the trash that squeenix puts out these days.

Though after what they did to the Mana series I was basically ready to destroy Squenix, too, I have to at least give credit where credit is due and say they still do some pretty good content.
