Considering that you only saw 17 seconds of it, you might want to dial your premature disappointment back a bit.

Am I the only one who feels this movie is gonna be a disappointment? The actor playing him doesn't look fit for the part. :/

@SonyPS I think this movie will be a disappointment, but if it is, it won't be Andrew Garfield's fault. He's a GREAT actor, and so if this movie fails, it will probably be because of bad storyline, cheesy dialogue, and cheesy special effects. But at this point there's no way to know. I just hope it's good.

@SonyPS Do you read ASM? I think Andrew Garfield looks a good bit like Peter Parker (especially when Humberto Ramos draws him).

I don't know, I was pretty disappointed with the first spider man trilogy. I personally love spider-man and his actual back story, and the writers for this one are actually paying attention. Not only is Gwen Stacy going to be the main girl in this one, but it looks like he's going to be making his own web shooters too. After the mess that was Spider-man 3, I only have good expectations. I don't think any Spider-man movie could be as bad as three was.

I dont care, so long as they get that whinny some of bitch actor that used to play him way from the set.

I felt like smashing my head off of the set infront every-time he opened his mouth or his gub was shown.

SPIDER-SLAYERS WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

THIS GAME BETTER BE GOOD!

They need the Spider-Slayers with Jameson running them. Those were always awesome.

Sure I’ll be downvoted for this but Spider-man 2 and Ultimate Spider-man were SO very overrated games. Spider-man just doesn’t make for a good video game, which is fitting because the character all around just sucks. To this day I can honestly say I’ve never read anything stupider than Spider-lizard. I fail to see how this movie or tie in game could be anything better than Marvel's other trash.

Oh and, Spider-powers….. ew.

@ChaseHammerJ It's not a remake, it's a reboot. Sam Raimi was set to direct Spider-Man 4, but Sony wanted the movie out by 2011. Raimi felt he couldn't deliver a quality product unless he had until 2012, and quit.
Ironic in that the new movie doesn't come out until 2012, but a great way for the series to let itself take a more serious tone.

So this game is not in first-person? I saw the trailer for the movie in 3D in a cinema and the part where spidey is running on the rooftops, seen from his perspective, was super awesome. It really drew me into the action. A first person spider man game would be super awesome as well, especially in 3D.

Until it's retconned in the second movie that is. Not unlike how X-Men 1st Class retconned, well, most of the 1st 3 X-men movies.

Oh yeah, and I forgot Ultimate Spider-man too. Remember how that was supposed to tie into the comics storyline and be canon, but was instead ignored completely?

Nope, its in the comics, But they showed the whole story to it in the comics and don't mention as a flash back but shows where it places in the timeline of Ultimate Spider-man. Look up Issue 124.

This game could go a few different ways. It could be awesome. Since it takes place after the film (Possibly could be the interim between the first and possible sequel) the story could actually work out well. One of the faults I find in most movie games (besides horrible controls, graphics, etc.) is how haphazardly the story is forced into the game. So with the story taking place after the film, we could get something that actually works, story wise.

The fact that this game looks to be open world could make it as great as Spider-Man 2 and Ultimate Spider-Man. It could also end up like Spider-Man: WoS. (granted I actually liked WoS, but I know most didn't.)

All in all, this game could turn out to be a surprise hit. Only time will tell.

On a side note, was Edge of Time really that bad?

yah it was bad sad to say, the story was fine, but the gameplay was horrid, web zipping for example was only to certain things and not everything, webswinging was like spidey was swinging from his ass, combat was the same but annoying, you got hit every 5 seconds and you didn't even know from what if there was too many guys on screen at once.

The movie is completely pointless. A reboot of the film franchise that's less than 10 years old and still fresh in everyone's minds?

Why? What's the point?

And the actor playing Peter Parker is ugly as hell. Toby Maguire was much more believable as the eponymous geek-turned-superhero.

Spider Man 2 was the best of the 3 movies.

That being said, I agree with everyone who said Spider Man 3 was terrible, absolutely terrible.

Agreed, the choice of actor was pretty bad this time. The guy looks like he's 13 years old and should be playing the part of Link in some Zelda fan film.

I'm rooting for this to pick the series back up off the ground. If they take the basic formula of Spiderman 2 and make it more varied without those annoying repetitive side missions it could be fantastic.
