Test Drive Unlimited 2's DLC 2 planned for February, adds bikes and new content
12
As predicted way back before the game's release, Test Drive Unlimited 2 is indeed getting some bikes to play around with. In a post on the game's official forums, a community manager for Atari says the game's second DLC pack is scheduled for February 2012. It will bring three bikes, including a Harley and two Ducatis, as well as six new cars, new missions and locations to explore.
You'll also receive new clothes and furniture to buy, and notice some minor enhancements to the game, like the ability to change car positions in the garage or control headlights. Finally, Test Drive 2 will offer support for some more driving wheel accessories.
The first DLC for the game ended up arriving at no cost thanks to a buggy launch, but it's been a while -- about nine months -- since TDU2 has seen new content. Eden Games has, after all, been dealing with other issues.

Is this game any good? I've been looking for a new racing game on PC lately and I can't make up my damn mind.
I only own three racing games on PC: TrackMania Nations Forever, Blur, and Grid. Didn't like Grid, liked the other two a lot.

@Heffer Wolfe Loved the first one, haven't played this one. If it's more of the same I might pick it up now that it's probably dropped drastically in price.

@Heffer Wolfe Loved the first one, I spent hundreds of hours with friends on TDU, despite its many issues, but the 2nd one was a total disappointment. I was really excited to play the beta, which was an alpha at best, but the full one didn't improve anything. I picked it on sale on steam for €5 this summer, but didn't even bother to install it.

So you're saying a game you didn't bother to install is rubbish.
I see you're well fitted to make a judgement call like that.

I played the beta and was underwhelmed, but still preordered and played the final cut. Two things kinda ruined it for me. One is the cars, while pretty, are so far from the photorealism we're used to with Forza and GT that they look bad in comparison. Two is the driving was, at least with a gamepad, very muddy. The input for turning is too choppy with a joystick no matter how you tweak the settings.
I fiddled with it for a week or two but haven't played it in months. Too many other great PC games around.

Actually, the FIRST DLC was the day 1 casino, and cost $10. TDU is one of my favorite franchises of all time, but it is not a racing game, per se. I mean, yes, there is a lot of racing, but the true joy of the game is in simply driving. And yeah, I didn't like Grid either, which is odd, because I love the Dirt franchise.

Me and my friends loved the first one. Is this one worth getting? Especially considering it's most likely way cheaper than it was on release by now?

This game is a very fun MMO-ish racer. You drive around in a MASSIVE island and randomly come across other players all the time. I'm not sure why, but the driving in this game was always fun. Even doing fetch quests or taxi quests, driving to the destination asap was always fun. I feel bad for letting it collect dust. I am so getting back into it now.

Does anyone know if this game supports the T500RS wheel on the PS3?
And is it worth getting after all the patches?
Thanks in advance.
