Impressive that Nintendo can keep moving those Wiis. There were some great deals and I nearly picked one up to play Zelda... nearly.

I hope to play it on the next console.

@Truant IMHO, at this point if you don't own a Wii already, just wait it out for Wii U. We already know it'll play all of Wii's games and use all of its controllers, after all. And who knows? With any luck, maybe they'll enable upscaling after all, and games like Skyward Sword will be as beautiful as they deserve to be :)

in other news, Skyrim on the PS3 is a complete disaster that should be avoided at all costs...until it's inevitably patched, that is.

Inevitably? The mess that is Skyrim can also be found on Fallout 3 and that was never fixed.

A patch would be nice but I don't think Besetheda really gives a damn about the PS3 version.

I think the more accurate assumption would be that they don't understand a damn about the PS3 when nuanced problems prop up. That and some of the problems seem inherent to a poorly designed PS3 system.

I mean seriously, when are those idiot hardware makers going to take memory serious? Seems like every console skips on that part in one way or another and it's a pretty damn cheap part all things told so why not do it right the first time?

You've got a point. Microsoft was going to ship the 360 with only 256mb until Epic showed them what Gears would look like with 512mb vs 256mb.

Would hardly say its a disaster, I had lag issues then the patch dropped. The lag only came back when I got to the 11 MB range save file wise.

Considering I've played for 130 hours.. I got my moneys worth ages ago.

@SirUrza I agree that it isn't as bad as all of the gaming websites are making it out to be...I platinumed the game just fine. I did experience all of the frame drops when my save file got to be bigger, but it seemed like all I needed to do was restart my ps3 and it ran fine again for a few hours. It certainly isn't broke, it's perfectly playable.

The fact that R2 dropped the ball for alot of fans, probably helped bury the 3rd which was an excellent effort.

There also wasn't enough advertising for it outside of websites. If it weren't for joystiq I wouldn't have known R3 was coming out.

You'd actually be surprised at how many Resistance fans hate R3, whenever I go to the game's forums all I see are people complaining that they've been copying CoD or something and that the game is nothing like RFOM.

That's not a sentiment I agree with, and I could go on about it forever but I don't want to bore you guys. Still, Resistance was always my favourite FPS series for it's singleplayer, not it's multiplayer; so I guess some would consider my opinion invalid anyway.

The gap of top 2 in NPD dec 2008 is:
Wii - 2.15 million
NDS - 3.04 million

So 360 could be up to 1 million over next competitor.

Actually it is less than the difference from 2008 not more -
"gap between 360 sales and sales of the next best selling platform was the largest we've seen SINCE December 2008"
So less than 3.05 - 2.15 = 900k.

Oh don't worry, a MS rep will soon reveal the actual 360 numbers like they typically do ... can't blame them for the fact that they've been besting everyone else in NA for the last 3 years almost every month excluding only a couple here and there.

@BoBsS I think you're thinking of Sony. They rarely even talk about their sad sales but when they do they refer to shipped to stores as "sales". Dont try to downplay the Xbox 360's success, I can say just from my black friday experience that I saw nothing but 360s leaving the shelves and maybe one or two people buying a Ps3.

The games you listed have all sold really well, though, ensuring that games like those will continue to be made. Honestly, I don't think there's any real reason to feel threatened by the success of CoD; there are still lots of other really great games out there.

This is where someone comes in and says "they made PS2 Madden 2012 in 2003!!!!"

Quick aside: Madden each year is more than just a roster update, but they could stand to experiment a bit more. FIFA this year is a great example. The game FEELS different and causes you to approach the game differently.

You think that Madden is drastically different every year, compared to a remake that runs on a new graphics engine and includes new bonus features such as kinect functionality, new terminals that talk about halo 4, And the inclusion of several maps, some of which are new.
