It would've been a "nice coincidence" to just use the mechanic(plumber) from RESIDENT EVIL OUTBREAK, David King.

But I guess that's too convenient. . ?

Rick...the mechanic?Im really hoping this isnt true,i would have hoped that after DR2 that either Frank or a combonation of Frank and Chuck would be neatly in line for DR3.

I know this does leave the opening for Capcom to re release the game starring Frank and or Chuck at a later date but could this seriously be what Capcom is planning?

This game is going to be terrible...

Anyways, quick question: I've played the majority of the first game (on Wii, leave me alone). Which should I buy: #2 or Off the Record?

@King Johngie the Fourth

Dude, the Wii game is TOTALLY different than the XB/PS game so don't let that ruin how you think of the franchise.

As for 2, I'd probably say OTR for the Sandbox Mode, new areas, and the ability to take pictures.

I'm intrigued. Even with their faults, I loved every minute of the first two. Though I am hoping to see the game move forward and out of an enclosed mall/casino.

@Courtney

I liked the "town" vibe of Case:Zero, even though it was basically the same walled-off thing as the others, just with more open skies. What I'd REALLY like to see is something a little more "Arkham City/Raccoon City" but with more buildings you can actually go into.

Agreed, I think the town had more personality than the entire casino did.

Any idea who's making this one? Is it Blue Castle (Capcom Vancouver) again? I hope so, they did a really good job with 2 (I didn't like 1 at all).

Whew - given the recent burst of Frank West - I figured it was inevitable he'd take the starring role of the next Dead Rising. If this rumour turns out true, I'll be able to enjoy another game with out porky the zombie slayer.

Chuck Greene was a far superior protagonist and hopefully this Rick fella will follow suit.

Having said this, I'm all about cameo's - so I hope we see a cameo from both previous protagonists (and hopefully, we won't have to pay for that honour).

Hope they add a bit more variety to the game, and fix the AI. The first two (and a half) games are fun for about 20 minutes and then you realise "ohhh, that is all there is to this game and most of it is actually terrible!"

"The purported game will feature a theme of illegal immigration, the source claims. An "underground" group of infected people avoid government registration, becoming "illegal" citizens."

Capcom, you don't have to try so hard to be relevant to current issues. No one plays Dead Rising to engage on the intricate points of immigration law anyway.

A part of me felt I was in the majority when I liked Frank. These are my favorite zombie games and I hope they have Frank and Chuck in the game somehow. I don't know if I really want a new character, but new Dead Rising is always welcome!

Why can't we have a zombie game set in Washington DC? With congressional approval at an all-time low, how much fun would people have chopping up undead politicians and lobbyists? You could play as "Joe the Plumber", and get to apply crazy mods to your super wrench.
In one of the big finales of the game, you have to round up a bunch of zombies in one place (hm, the Capitol Building?), in order to ignite a big-ass bomb to save the city.
How insidious, and incendiary!
I'm being monitored by the FBI now, aren't I?

I think because politicians would be outraged if they're depicted as being a zombie... and I'm sure retailers would not carry the title at all...

I just hope they fix the clunky mechanics and animations. Whether it was Frank or Chuck, they both walked like they had a stick up their ass....and you walk soooooo slooooowwww.....

Needless to say, I like DR 1. Before I had a 360, I saw a commercial for it and was like "Hot damn! I can do that?! Stuck in a mall with zombies where anything can be used as a weapon?" then I bought it and played it...then I was like "Hot damn! You can do it!"
