Alan Wake's American Nightmare is a spooky XBLA battle between light and dark
25
Looks like the rumors were right, at least partially: Alan Wake's American Nightmare will be an XBLA exclusive title wherein our titular hero is pitted against Mr. Scratch, an apparently egotistical and especially evil version of Alan. Evil birds, evil satellites and everything you'd expect lurks within the Spike TV Video Game Awards trailer, as well as in your very soul.

It looks mighty awesome. I've been procrastinating to long I'm gonna get Alan Wake this Christmas for myself.
And there it is I got.
That wasn't so hard.

Damn. This is a downloadable game?
Alan Wake was already awesome, so I am confident Remedy will take things to the next level. So unless Shadow Complex 2 magically pops up out of nowhere, this is a shoe-in for downloadable game of the year.
I just hope that for the sake of bringing exposure to the franchise (you know, to insure Alan Wake 2 actually happens), that American Nightmare goes on sale for 1200MSP, even though it is clearly looking like a much more expensive game.
And BTW Stevetrop Man of Mystery, if you have not played Alan Wake, you really are missing out on one of the best games this entire generation. I love this game, and personally recommend it right up there with Gears of War, Uncharted, Infamous, BioShock and GTA, as one of the absolute best gaming experiences this generation. You cannot go wrong with jumping into this game series.

Woohoo! More Alan Wake! Wasn't sure if that creature in the beginning of the video was some monster or some tall human without a head, but hopefully there will be some cool variety with the possessed enemies.

The Mr. Scratch storyline is a genius direction to take until the full sequel (although it was only touched upon in the game, the book in the limited edition goes into a fair amount of depth).

@Blizzard
What book? What limited edition? OMG, I just need this!
Alan Wake is one of the best games I've played. Yeah, combat can get a little tedious every now and then, but that's not what this game is about. It reminded me so much of Indigo Prophecy (another of these that I hold very dear), sans taking the apeshit turn towards the end.

Is it just me or is the audio sync WAY off in this trailer?

I had the audio sync problem too.

I loved it. Definite buy regardless of price. Hope it's a full 8+ hour campaign.

Will this make any sense to me whatsoever if I didn't play Alan Wake? It's difficult to say at this stage, I know, but I'm wondering if playing Deadly Premonition instead could POSSIBLY have ANY bad consequences.

Just get Alan Wake. It doesn't cost a lot.

@IRONSAM Deadly Premonition is the REAL Twin Peaks of video games. Alan wake is fun but it does not even come close to the batsh*t crazy stuff you see in DP.

Looks amazing, but I miss Alan's old outfit. That jacket was so awesome.

I want it (now), but I'm afraid it looks like a lot of the same from AW and the DLC episodes. I hope not.

Woah, Alan is a badass now! I sure hope Barry is around though.

I wonder how they're going to reconcile this with the ending of Alan Wake proper and its DLCs.
Regardless, I want this. Now. And then Remedy should make more things. In fact, they should not stop making things ever, because Remedy. RemedyRemedyRemedy.
They are the cure for what ails me.
