The PS1 Neversoft Spiderman game from 2000 for me. (Ran on the same engine as the Tony Hawk's games if I remember correctly.)
But none of this Enter Electro crap, that game was awful compared to the first.

At least it's good old stuff. Nice to see it's only $15 too. I would've put money down that Activision was going to charge $50-60 at retail for this.

@DCGX Only downside is, at that price point, it's unlikely they'll include my favorite part of THPS2: The park editor.

Though it looks like this teaser may be alluding to some sort of replay editor. Which could be pretty cool I guess.

Oh God, you just made me realize how much I loved messing around in the park editor. It was, hands down, my favourite part of the game.
Let's hope they bring it back.

I like the idea of including 1 and 2, but I want the manual (part 3 i think) and revert (part 3 mechanics). Watch them release Tony Hawk HD2 with parts 3 and 4.

Also he back flips through the glass and it wasn't a special. Barrel flips back flips and front flips, I believe were introduced in Thug 2. He also gets off of his board at the end of the trailer which getting off your board started in Thug 1.

The Park Editor will be there...as $5-10 DLC
Here's to hoping the game doesn't get stripped of features that made them such great games.

I hope so, but I doubt it. I bought Crazy Taxi for XBLA thinking that it had the same soundtrack (Blah, should have got the trial first...) but they completely changed the soundtrack.

could be difficult though, due to the way music licenses work. the licenses may no longer be valid, and so they may not be able to secure all the rights again.

I can promise you the soundtrack will not be 100% the same. Considering the game is jumping consoles and mediums and there's over a decade between releases, there's no way in hell they maintained their licenses. Now those record labels know that the TH team want the originals they'll probably request a pretty penny by comparison to the original price Activision paid. Not to mention the whole "Activision/Blizzard" being a huge business now, and back in the day when THPS1 came out CDs were the preferred medium for music... I'm sure the original labels will ask more than their songs are worth.

So here's to hopin' the new soundtrack is just as awesome!

I'm glad they went with the title Tony Hawk Skateboarding HD which is a lot better than their original choice of "Tony Hawk Skateboarding: Attempting To Stay Relevant 12 Years Later". Hey, loved the Tony Hawk games back in the day, but that day ended a looooooong time ago.

If they're switching the roster, that probably doesn't bode well for the soundtrack staying intact. Oh well, worst case scenario, you could always use that same $15 to get the original versions of the games all the way up to Underground 2.

$15 sounds rather attractive. So long as there's enough content with the "full" game knowing that there's going to be a ton of DLC.

that's somewhat good to hear .. HD Graphics i understand .. but ... adding new things to what was already a classic ! ? why ? some could say it's Better ! but I really think nothing should be added but a graphics upgrade that's way it sticks more to the classic.

You know what I'd like though? A Skate game like Skate It for the Wii, but with Move controls. You just do the motion of the trick with the motion controller like you would with the stick. I think that would be neat.

I'd rather they just go the standard remake route. Just release 2-4 on a disc for $40, with nothing touched but the visuals, and I'd be a happy camper.

I'll probably end up checking this out anyway, for old time's sake if nothing else. Still haven't even played Skate 3 yet despite having a lot of fun with the first two.

Activision: Ruining game series by milking them dry, then re-releasing the first, good iterations of the games.

Is this your scheme, your plot?

That said, I'd probably pick it up- if it has the original soundtrack.

Upping the pixel count for a PSX title wouldn't justify any good. Which is why it has been remade. I honestly don't understand your argument. Is it bad that they completely remade the game and priced it at $15? Or would you want to pay $40 for it?

Despite the haters, this is what i've been asking for for years now.

Somewhere along the line, around the time of THUG, the series lost it's way. It was suppose to be able fast, fun filled arcade skating, not any sort of simulations or open world stuff.

Press start, drop in, and have a blast.

HD remakes of the original games is very welcome to me, because they are just as fun now as back then. Updating them just makes them easier on the eyes for the HD era, as older games don't tend to hold up as well in that regard.

Am I the only person who actually enjoyed American Wastleland and Project 8?

In my mind up until they did the motion stuff Underground 2 was the only bad one and that was mostly because of all the Jackass related stuff they shoved in.

@That One Guy It was just too wild and zany for me. Then again, it came out at a time when I was done with skateboarding. The whole "Jackass" motif really put me off of both the lifestyle and the video game. I won't call it a bad game, but it was no THPS or THPS2 (or first Skate game for that matter).

Let's just hope they won't include revert to manual when landing on a quarter pipe. I always hated the fact that you could infinite combo.

THPS2 was the perfect balance of """realism""" and fiction.

I'll give em 15 bucks to play an updated version of School 2 anytime.
