Xbox Live schedule: Sonic CD is $5, Rock of Ages half price, more!

Major Nelson has dropped yet another Xbox Live knowledge bomb, this time revealing upcoming Xbox Live Arcade titles, the latest Deal of the Week promotion and more. In addition to Joe Danger and a heaping helping of DLC, Xbox Live Arcade will receive Sonic CD this week, with the Blue Blur clocking in at a mere five bucks. Also, in a surprising twist, Sonic CD will include both the Japanese and American soundtracks, meaning "Sonic Boom" will indeed be heard by a new generation. Meanwhile, Trine 2 will make its XBLA debut on December 21 for $15.

Moving on to Deal of the Week, this week covers "Japan's Finest," offering Hard Corps: Uprising and Radiant Silvergun at $7.50 each, while Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury and Guwange can be had for $5 apiece. Next week's deal will see the Rock of Ages price chipped down to a very reasonable $5, providing an excellent method for settling any family arguments during Christmas dinner.

Considering a used copy of the Saturn original would be ~27x that, it sure as hell is.

Don't remind me I sold my copy years ago for 10 bucks. :-(

Unfortunately, "You Can Do Anything" and "Cosmic Eternity" are vocal-less, due to various legal issues.

But hell, the superior JP/EU soundtrack is finally hitting the US, and the still-pretty-damn-fine US soundtrack is there to placate those who inexplicably hate the alternative, so it's all win-win.

Finally! Sega has whored out the Sonic franchise to every device known to man yet Sonic CD has always been excluded from Steam and anthonlogy sets despite being arguably the most difficult to find game in the franchise. $5 seems like both a bargain as well as an apology to the fans!

Sonic CD isn't a hard to find game. It's a hard to find game on a system people actually want to use.

A SEGA CD? I had two, and it was also the LAST system I ever wanted to use. I have a 3DO that got more play time.

I can't stop day-dreaming about Radiant Silvergun.

Why XBLA only? Do they not like making money? PS3, Steam... ?

Exclusives are becoming maddening. If they aren't published or funded by the console maker, why have them?

Does anyone know if Sonic CD on XBLA the Sega CD original or the PC port found on the Gamecube Sonic Gems Collection?

@andrewpoe: Neither, it's been remade on a new (but true to the original) engine with proper not-stretched widescreen support, both soundtracks, an optional Sonic 2 style spindash, and much smoother special stages.

I don't have a new 360 yet, but by god I'm buying Sonic and Radiant this week.

These are insane prices for the set.
