Infinity Ward issuing Modern Warfare 3 bans that last 5000 days

Infinity Ward is issuing its version of a "permaban" to offensive Modern Warfare 3 players, in the form of a ban lasting 5000 days. "If you see this message," IW Creative Strategist Robert Bowling confirmed on Twitter, "it means you've been Permabanned (for something bad)."

Really, when you think about it, IW is being charitable to cheaters and other malcontents by issuing bans lasting only 13 and a half years. That's not really permanent at all! Maybe you should thank Infinity Ward for its beneficence by not hacking your game or being outrageously racist.

Otherwise, you'll be thinking about how to live your life until you turn 26.

I'm not a COD fan but I'm glad they're banning the people who ruin the game for everyone else.

Agreed. I find it funny that they ban folks for cheating but all those ridiculous kill streaks and lame perks are essentially cheat codes themselves.

That makes no sense.... It's all a part of the game, killstreaks and perks are what make CoD what it is, they aren't "cheat codes" from Rogue Squadron, little buddy.

@Razer922 I think with PSN you have to be a mega douche over multiple titles to get an account ban, as I can only recall one public instance of such a jackass getting a system ban.

Or you could just wait until next year and play the next one when it comes out.
And if you get banned in that one again you know there is always the next year, with a brand-new Call of Duty experience never seen before.

What they should do to stop those dirty COD cheaters is ban the entire Xbox Live account. That way the cheaters won't pop up again in future COD games.

If anything, its CoD that tries to copy Battlefield with their poor attempt at classes (the 3rd one copied to a T, I believe, with medic and support classes and such) and the move to a modern setting (they didn't do this until 2 years after Battlefield 2 was released). If you can't appreciate Battlefield, that's fine- a lot of people can't get accustomed when they've been stuck with a wannabe twitch shooter (a pathetic excuse for one- makes me sick when people actually consider CoD a twitch shooter), but to say that its trying to be like CoD, shows you truly don't know what you're talking about.
