Wow that Jill actually looks like... Jill.

What were you thinking, RE5?

@wrongThinker
All of them looked like their old selves rather than their next-gen counterparts. I am pleased.

Also pretty excited to play this, even though I was ignoring it previously. Gameplay looks fun.

Disaster or not, I'm genuinely excited for this game to come out.

2012 is shaping up already.

@guywithglasses

A valued member of the U.S.S. and legendary helicopter pilot. He's skilled with firearms and proficient at tactical combat.

(I jest, I jest).

I'm thinking that it will cost $5.00 to call him back from vacation.

@NPTran23

They may have botched the release of their take on Socom, but I've heard nothing but compliments about the title post-release...

...6+ months later of course. =)

Let's hope they have their shit together this time on release day.

Ironically, SOCOM Confrontation is better than SOCOM IV.

Jill and Carlos' faces look absolutely terrible, everything else looks surprisingly solid. Colour me intrigued.

Awesome! =] I can't wait for this game. It was under my radar for a while until I started seeing more gameplay.

Can't wait to play RE GoW style.

I got some hands-on time with ORC's first two (or at least the first and then another later in the story) levels yesterday at an event in San Francisco. It's...interesting. I will say that the playstyle feels similar to RE5's default control scheme, with some noticable tweaks that both end up (in my opinion) making certain things easier to do and complicate others. Admittedly, the team I was on was basically thrown into the thick of things with only a rudimentary knowledge of the controls, which the Capcom reps on-hand couldn't do a very thorough job of explaining. With some trial-and-error, we were finally getting the hang of it by the end.

The build my team and I played also seemed to be riddled with bugs, although most of them were not game-breaking and were probably tied to lag compensation. But still, seeing an enemy seemingly warp from the ground to halfway up the wall next to it was very disenchanting.

The gameplay was like playing a better version of RE5 in an RE2 setting. The team dynamic is necessary for survival; there's so much going on at any given moment that good teamwork can make or break your progress through the game. Ammo goes fast, too, considering the sheer amount of enemies that get thrown at you. We learned fast that this is not at all like the older games; you most certainly are NOT required to kill every foe that you encounter in order to proceed. In fact, trying will likely get you killed. Your goal is to stay alive and keep moving (and destroy evidence that would encriminate your employer, of course).

When I first heard about this mode, I was really hoping it would be an unlockable story mode that would let you take the heroes' side. Multiplayer-only is kind of a disappointment, but it still looks like a hell of a lot of fun. As long as it's not Disc-Locked-Content, I think I'll end up getting it anyway. The game is gonna be a blast.
