Humble Indie Bundle 4 adds free soundtracks for every game
33
Er, not every game ever -- that'd be impossible, you guys. We're talking soundtracks for every game in the fourth Humble Indie Bundle: Gratuitous Space Battles, Cave Story+, Jamestown, Bit.Trip Runner, Super Meat Boy, Shank and Nightsky HD.
The soundtracks are free to anyone who pays above the current average for the Bundle and, as usual, to anyone who's already purchased the bundle. You can snag them in mp3 format or, in the case of Super Meat Boy and Nightsky HD, also in FLAC.

If you guys have never listened to the Cave Story soundtrack before it is amazing! I literally cannot believe how much awesomeness is contained in this bundle. Merry Christmas indeed!

Cave story + is awesome, it has that retro feeling that I love.
That alone makes this humble bundle great, I just wish It had better controls with a gamepad, it's very "sensitive"

Too bad they aren't all available in FLAC, but considering how much awesome is available in Humble Bundle 4, I can't really complain. My Steam library is almost entirely comprised of games offered in these amazing bundles.

FLAC is available for meatboy and night sky.

HB#4 is quite possibly the best one yet. I already got it for me at my premium "I support you guys" price, but I plan on dropping some more normal amounts as gift purchases for friends this holiday.

I love the Humble Bundle 4, first time ever purchasing a Humble Bundle and will likely do it again next year. I haven't heard any of the soundtracks from the games, so gonna listen to them tonight. Most of the games I had already but paying more than the asked price made it so worth it getting two extra games for free.

It's too bad the Cave Story+ soundtrack is the crappy 'New' version that was released with the Wii. I wanted the remastered tracks SO BAD!!

I'm aware that there's nothing more tiresome and played-out than someone on their pro/anti-piracy soapbox, but if you pirate the Humble Bundle? You're a bad person. No room for opinion there; it's Science.

Yeah its depressing that people will pirate even this... but funny when you hear the excuses :D
"My friend Timmy says Jamestown has poor AI... i'm going to pirate it!"
"They're milking the Cave Story franchise! Its like Activision with MW2/3. Pirate this!"
"Ef corporate america and charity! We are the 99%! Lets pirate this!"
"Its too expensive! Pirate!"

I didn't have a card to buy it with so I pirated it and gave $50 to childsplay.

1. Unfortunately, it's not the original Cave Story soundtrack.
2. I was hoping for the third bundle instead, but perhaps there's still time for that.
Anyway, hooray for free bonuses!

Yay! Games for linux!
Now I don't need to boot into windows to get a quick gaming fix. Waiting for code to compile has never been so fun!
(yes I know that xkcd comic :P)

I already own the Meat Boy soundtrack. If you don't own it yet, it's definitely worth it. I ran my first half marathon to that music. There's nothing that can get you motivated to run 13 miles quite like the fear of saw blades and constant death.

I guess the SMB soundtrack is worth $6. (I either already have or don't care about everything else that's included.)

I have an innocent (n00b) question guys, but help me out:
I've never used Steam so I don't really get what's the benefit of using it. Like why should I prefer redeem the games on Steam rather than just download them to my hard drive. I understand the store part of it, ilke an iTunes for games, and that you can add friends and playing online with them that way is easier I'd guess. But what else? is it like an Xbox Live for PC games? you still have to download them right? I'm just not sure I'm getting it right and I bet it's an awesome thing I'm missing out on and I wanna get on that S.
So can anyone give me a short explanation? thank you :)

Well, most people would say the largest benefit of Steam is its wacky sales (which are at times something to behold).
But other than the sales and social aspects, the biggest draw is likely the fact that all of the software is tied to your account. You no longer have to deal with discs or backups of your purchased downloads; once something is registered, you'll always be able to go right into the software and have access to your game. You can even hop from PC to PC and as long as only one of them is logged on, you'll run into no problems installing your games across multiple machines.
(I hope that makes sense; half-asleep here).

@robotoid - There are many plus and cons. Let me list some of them:
+ Social thing with friends and invites (not every game, though). You can also send gifts to friends.
+/- Whatever you have bought can be made accessible to your friends.
- Only one Steam client logged in at a time. That means that no other in your household could play a different game.
+ Crazy Steam deals. These days, the 1-day deals are OK.
- Offline mode is sketchy. You are allowed only to go offline either with Steam already running or if you click first in "Going Offline". If you start Steam in online mode without an internet connection, you might not be able to play any Steam game until you get that. If there is any other way - I am confused.
+ Games are always up to date. No need to look for latest versions on the web. On the case of Batman:Arkham City, it looks like the Steam version is getting more frequent updates than the DVD retail one. You can also check for latest video card drivers via Steam.
- Games are always up to date. You might not be able to start a game until it updates. In some cases, updates can get as large as verious GB. Example: latest Sanctum update was 1GB.
+ Indie developers usually use Steam forums. For example: Atom Zombie Smasher, Hydrophobia, Beat Hazard developers have been actively using Steam forums.
+/- There is a risk of your whole Steam account to be banned if you do unethical things, like cheating. That is, not only the game you have been cheating, but the whole Steam account might get busted.
+ Steam is on Windows and MacOs, with some games available for both. You only need to buy a copy. Many games use Steam Cloud for synchronizing savegames.
- Steam is not officially supported in Linux.
+ I almost forgot - no DVD is needed. That is very convenient.
- Games these days are large. You probably want to leave Steam downloading video games in the background or at night. It might eat your allowed download bits for one month easily.
+ Steam Overlay. You can do text chat, voice chat, looking at achievements and game walkthroughs without leaving or minimizing the game. Just press SHIT+TAB (default keystroke).
I probably miss something else.

@CompanyPressence Just to correct something
"+/- There is a risk of your whole Steam account to be banned if you do unethical things, like cheating. That is, not only the game you have been cheating, but the whole Steam account might get busted."
Cheating in a VAC game VAC bans your account, which bans you from other games that also have VAC (with some exceptions). Non-VAC games aren't affected. Your Steam account will only be disabled if you violate the TOS, for example meddle with the executables or something else that's much more serious than aimbotting in CSS.

Even Nightsky HD, the game that might be less known for you, is one of the best games I played this year.

It's probably the game that would have been the main reason I would have bought the bundle, except already got it in an indieroyale bundle, so instead SMB became the main reason.
Excellent game. Sort of feel cheated by the easy setting, until realise the harder setting then offers a completely new set of level designs that are pretty tricky some times. It's a relaxed game, but still needs skills to get through. Great graphics and soundtrack as well.

I'm reasonably certain the Shank soundtrack has always been free, but it's also excellent, and I mean excellent. Even if you weren't impressed with the game (and enough people were that they're making a sequel), the music is a keeper.
