Will there be an option to install a normal res texture pack, too?

@DangerMouse001 Why would you want that? It would look worse on the because of the difference in resolution. I don't think you know how these things work, Mr. Buzzkill.

I was wondering how they were going to make this game work on 3DS without a second analog stick.

It'll support the Circle Pad Pro.

Just how they make any shooter work infinitely better than it could ever work with an analogue stick? Touch screen aiming.

I have MGSHD, but I've been craving this since they announced Slide Pad Pro support. Before it looked like it controlled like Splinter Cell 3D... horrible. If this is true and it plays ala MGS4, I'll be a happy throat-slitter.

I never did, but I probably will for the 3DS version. I just bought HD collection, but it'll be nice to play it on the go.

Considering you needed to hold two or three buttons to aim in first person with MGS4 and couldn't stay in FPS permanently, I just hope the FPS mode they are planning isn't so convoluted and broken.

Still looking forward to Snake Eater 3DS regardless. Definitely the best in the series.

Sounds pretty interesting... But the MGS HD collections do make me wish this was, at least, bundled with MGS2 or PW (both would be preferable). Ah, well.

@BPMOmega XBL PSN Steam Hell, bundle it with Portable Ops and Peace Walker and call it "Metal Gear Solid: Big Boss Chronicles" or something. Portable Ops and Peace Walker are already designed to work on a handheld with only one analog stick (not well, but they're functional, and that work is already done). It would be a better value, considering you can get MGS 2, 3, and Peace Walker for $40 in HD. (And also Metal Gear 1 and 2 as a bonus).

So it's basically a choice between neat 3D with crap graphics and extra features on the 3DS, or amazing graphics on the HD collection on the Vita without all the extra content.

@SpanWolf - And significantly worse controls on the Vita. The game is being remade on the 3ds with Peace Walker style controls, but the Vita version is just a port of MGS HD, which was a port of the PS2 game and nothing more. MGS3 is fantastic, but the controls haven't aged well. At all.

@(Unverified) Dual sticks right off the bat though, so if you were ok by the default PS2 controls or the Subsistence Edition upgraded controls, then you are good to go.

@SpanWolf - Fair point, which is why I do like the design of the Vita alot. MGS3 was one of my favorites, until I played through it again on the HD Collection. The game design was ahead of its time, but the controls were behind its time. I would sadly say that even the second joystick lacking PSP incarnation of Peace Walker had much better controls.

I don't understand why one thing "should" have more than one name to call it.
Please, could you explain why?

I thought this was already assumed to be the case. Either way, I'm going to need to see a substantial amount of extra content to pick this up when the HD Collection is available.
