I can't see for the life of me how I could play this game without a controller. I know a smartphone has that fancy star trek feeling with it but my brain needs to hold a controller to play something heavy like that on my phone.

On to the game itself. It looks pretty damn snazzy on a phone.

@Stevetrop Man of Mystery You can use a controller with Android phones. I assume that this also works on Android tablets.

@Stevetrop Man of Mystery

My Asus Transformer has controller compatibility built in. No rooting and I'm able to plug an old PS3 Sixaxis into it and use that. Works perfectly. Even holds up the screen for me since it's the dock that has the standard USB port needed.

@Hayseboi

Mine did that too on gs2. The files would stop downloading at different stages 51% or 60%, usually if it was interrupted by a phone call or txt message. The game would start with no sound.
I had to try about 5 times to get the full download, now eveything is right.

Kinda off-topic but I'd pay good money for a GTA 3/Vice City/San Andreas HD remake compilation.

That is very cool. I guess the question is now, how soon are we going to see a modded out Skyrim on Android :D

P.S. Is it my PC or does that video have no sound?

@2late2die
I believe in an earlier article Bethesda stated that they wouldn't make a mobile Elder Scrolls. (besides Vir2L's TES:Travels series) It just wouldn't work I guess. There's too much going on for these flimsy cellphones and tablets to bear.

Bethesda did try to make a PSP elder scrolls, in which you would teleport to the towns Dragon Age-style but the project was dropped.

Well they didn't add a limit on devices when they released it. It seems now that there's a limit. I can't see it anymore.

@type2red The problem is that the game isn't compatible with all Android devices. If your device isn't compatible, it won't even show up in the Android Market. :(

Its best to visit the Android Market on your PC (market.android.com), log in with your Google Account, and see the app there. There, you'll see which devices the app is compatible with.

@nerdydesi1 Below is the link to GTA3 in the Android Market.

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rockstar.gta3&feature=search_result

When I log in, on the left of the page, it says that the app is compatible with some of my devices where it gives a list of all the Android devices I ever used my Google Account on (eg. Droid 2, Droid X, etc.) and tells me which ones are compatible and which ones aren't.

What's the point? If you're going to use a controller why not just play it on PS2 or PS3(old models)? Why use a controller for use on such a small screen?

It's strange to hear so many complaints of bugs and crashes. I have put several hours into it on my Atrix, and the only thing I have seen is one car that was floating in the air. Otherwise, the game has run buttery smooth.

@ItsameMatt03 Its like dealing with PC gaming. There are so many different hardware configurations that a game will perform wildly different on one Android device vs. another. There are so many combinations of different CPUs, GPUs, etc. out there.

@type2red No problem, glad to help! :)

I can understand how confusing it would get for some Android users when one person sees an app on the store in their phone and another person doesn't. I like Android and am an Android user, but its rife with fragmentation. : (
