@copa On second thought, Luddy said on Twitter it was near completion. Fingers triple-crossed for later tonight.

So will we still get individual posts about their 'best of the rest' as well?

To answer your previous question, it still listed your name as Space in the emails I would get notifying me that you had responded to my comment. Also, I recognized the avatar.

Giant Bomb has been having oodles of coverage on their GoTY conversations. On their Game of the Year Day 5 post they even had an award for "Dumbest Motion-Controlled Moment"

Oh, and while I guess I understand why it's making so many lists, I continue to find it asinine and irritating every time I see Catherine on a list.

@MarkezJM

Out of curiosity, why does it bother you that Catherine is making end of year GOTY lists? I haven't played it yet, but it's on my short list of stuff to pick up soon.

@Courtney

Eh, just my personal opinion. I recognize that it has remarkable presentation, great style, and a unique narrative not seen often in gaming. However, I just get sick of all the people spewing and posturing about the amazing moral decisions the game has you make and how wondrous that all is, blah blah blah. I'm basically just being a stick in the mud since I'm so tired of hearing about it, for the sake of being a stick in the mud. I'm sure it's still a good gaming experience for a lot of people.

@eat it I can't figure out the meaning of your post. Some of the games are huge and obvious, but others are esoteric. Are you sarcastically criticizing them for being too "hip" or earnestly criticizing for being too mainstream?

@TheDarkWayne

cmon. the only game worthy of being on that list is skyrim. and they listed it twice, which in all honesty I'm surprised it's not on there 5 times, because there is a post about it every hour on the hour.

I mean really, in a year that saw dead space 2, uncharted 3, batman, rayman, La Noire, Portal 2, Dark souls, Gears 3, BF3 ... they are talking about Mortal Kombat, to the moon and Catherine?

I've been here long enough to realize that Joystiq has been going out of their way to support indie developers and smaller studios but it gets a little way too ridiculous sometimes.

Have you bothered to actually listen to any of these end of year roundups? Along with the actual GOTY talk are discussions about interesting games that likely won't be making any top 10 lists, but are worth remembering for one reason or another.

if la noire had 8 bit graphics and was a side scroller it would be joystiq's game of the year

Hi Richard - Any chance we could get links in here for prior years of Joystiq's GoTYs?

Haven't had much of a chance to listen to much of the new podcast, but did get to listen to the one focused on localization on a road-trip a while ago, twas great.

Curious to hear about Mount and Blade. Heard about it ( the non expansion version I guess?) a couple years ago but it seemed like another eclectic (read: bad and poorly made) EuroRpg

Richard, dude, you need to stop worrying about time. This isn't the first episode you've hurried somebody along like that.
