The social aspect with your cousin may become pretty boring, especially when the only creative sentence you'd be able to execute is "Eeeeh...Screw you, Rohmuhn!".

Be thankful to be the Bats, is what I'm getting at here.

Tales of Vesperia for long stretches
Mario Kart 7 for portable fun
Microsoft Flight Beta for goofing around.
and Battlefield 3 for multiplayer.

Need to clear out my RPG backlog (Fallout: NV, Eternal Sonata, FF13, Fable 2) - Figured Tales of Vesperia was as good as any a place to start.

Even though I just started it back on Monday, I'm on the last stretch of the first Mass Effect. I forgot that I can usually beat the game at around, or just under, 20 hours. Along with that, I also began Mario's very first foray into RPGs with Super Mario RPG. Finally, I'm still playing Trinity: Souls of Zil O'll, Jeanne D'arc, and Grandia 2. I'm thinking that I should have Mass Effect done by the weekend, and if that's the case I'll go ahead crank Mass Effect 2. I just got Lair of the Shadow Broker and Kasumi's Stolen Memories for free off of XBL, so I've been having the itch to give those a try.

I had successfully pulled myself away from Skyrim but now I'm back in, almost at 300 hours. Just can't bring myself to do the civil war quest line knowing the dlc will almost certainly involve the Thalmor and Empire.

I'll try to use that as a reason to finally, finally pull myself away and finally, finally play BF3, Batman, and Uncharted 3. Also, probably another go through Dragon Age to see info can finally get the perfectionist achievement to work

Just finished my second playthrough of mass effect 1+2 and now I'm moving on to F.3.A.R. (THAT"S HOW YOU SAY IT!).

There will be some BF3 mixed in there. And probably some other new (old) game as well (Knights of the Old Republic maybe?)...

Oh... And I don't know how... But in my first playthrough of ME2, I somehow managed to COMPLETELY MISS LEGION! I heard like 5 different people mention him over the last week (conveniently timed with me playing through it) and I had NO idea what anyone was talking about! HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT HIM!?

SERIOUSLY!?! He's now like... My favourite Mass Effect character!

Motorstorm Apocalypse. One of the most underrated games of the year imo. After a year where arcade racers fared none too well I hope they won't also disappear like my other favorite genres of yesteryear: turn-based squad strategy and adventure games.

I just started Skyrim recently, and am only about 8 hours in? Tips as to important things to do at the outset of the game would be appreciated. The most recent I received was to smith lots of iron daggers so that skill is high later in the game.

Also, I'm still offended I missed the meme train on this one. I'd like to think I can get away with something like, I tried to steal a marble rye, but then I took a handbag to the coin purse. I'm really not gonna let this go.

I'd like to think I have it in me to finally finish off Lost Odyssey, I'm at the 2nd to last dungeon... But it just ain't gonna happen.

Also, Richard, Phantasmagoria? You make me sick. It almost makes me want to vomit again after a buddy made me watch youtube vids of that game. For godssakes try something wholesome like Willy Beamish.

Don't feel bad about not being in on the memes. I've had plenty of instances where I feel like I should have experienced a humorous, popular event in a game I never quite got around to.

It's all good.

@MarkezJM...M'aiq says leave the memes to the experts...Instead focus on that sneak skill, it's a lifesaver in the dungeons later on, plus that initial 6X critical strike is nice.

You don't need to concentrate too much on Smithing, because Skyrim is not that difficult of a game. Just go hunting for fun sometimes and make leather bracers out of the hides, that is enough.

The game has a nicer pace in my opinion if you only use fast travel sparingly. For short distances, just go for a walk.

Dual casting seems cool but it is not that useful for everyone. Look into it before you buy that perk.

There are lots of "caps" at around 85% damage reduction, e.g. you don't need to get your armor up to 1000, it caps out at 567. This means you can wear lower grades of armor if you think they look cool.

It can be good to design a class that uses about six or seven skills and concentrate just on raising those. This means you don't level too fast and your playstyle comes together sooner. It is better to have three characters with distinct playstyles rather than try to do everything with one guy.

To be honest I have been enjoying both games quite a bit.

I have only encountered two quest-breaking bugs in Skyrim, both involving quest-critical objects vanishing during a fight. Luckily I was able to load very recent saves in both cases and it was no big deal.

I picked up Alpha Protocol on Amazon for $10 and didn't know what to expect. I have been pleasantly surprised by it right up until the end. Helicopter boss fights requiring the use of numerous (in)conveniently placed rocket launchers aren't fun anymore.

All good. I asked only because I have played Skyrim and put it down for awhile due to some infuriating quest break/vanishing item bugs, but I haven't played Alpha Protocol yet. I just might give it a try then.

I'll pick Skyrim up again after (hopefully) a patch fix that at least fixes most of the issues I've been having.
