So it's not as universally compatible as the Logitech wireless headphones, *and* it costs nearly as much? And I'll bet the sound isn't as good. How... great...

@ThatFuzzyBastard

And at the same price, the Logitech F540 does the PS3 and TV (standalone) too.

@Ballistic H Oh yeah, I have the Logitech's and love 'em, and therefore can't see what this is for. Sorry, I think my sarcasm didn't come through online.

With a 5.8Ghz transmitter these have a much wider broadcast range with less chance for interference. Most all other wireless They're also wireless chat with XBL parties.

the only questions I have is how long is the battery life? And how is the bass and overall sound quality what compared to the TurtleBeach X12, X31 , or X41?

That headset looks like the Tritton Trigger, not the Detonator. I bring this up because I bought my son the Trigger for Xmas and I have X12s. The sound quality between the Trigger and X12 is identical. I actually found the fit and comfort of the Trigger much, much better than my X12s. So much so that I was kind of hoping that my son would trade with me but he didn't want to. Smart kid.

I'm happy with the official Sony Wireless Headset for my PS3. The on-screen notifications are a bonus too. Only problem I have with them is that my ears get damn warm after playing for a while, but I guess you can't have everything. :)

Hmmm is this one fully wireless??? I'm looking for one that I don't have to tether from headphone-to-controller for chat stuff.... it seems on the website it lists "Headset Connector Cable" as one of the wires included. Anyone out there know if this means it has to be tethered?? What's the point of official headphones when it doesn't even use wireless chat?

@xreadmore From my understanding, it means you don't need any cables to connect to your TV, for game audio. You still need a wire to connect it to the controller, but that's to be expected. Plus that wire is tiny, I doubt anyone needs wireless functionality for that.

Well I need wireless functionality for that... so now you can un-doubt it.

For wireless headphones it still needs:
1) RCA Adapter Cable
2) USB Cable
3) Headset Connector Cable

That's a lot of wires for wireless headphones. In fact it's basically like all other wireless headphones already available. What's the point of it being "official" or "co-branded" if it doesn't use MS's wireless tech?
