In the PSP days these kind of ports would've been scaled down versions. But with the Vita we're getting near 1:1 ports of many (although not the most demanding) PS3 games. Roll on late Feb.

Because full blown ports of home console experiences are what the masses are after with their portable gaming needs?

The funniest part is, most everyone with a Vita will be gaming on it in their homes on a WiFi connection sitting right next to their PS3s anyways.

And they say Wii U and its tablet controller doesn't make sense or looks appealing at all.....

@Co It has portable style of games too. Come on, don't tell me you don't marvel at the fact this thing is capable of running PS3 graphics (literally, this thing can do early PS3 games).

I'm not seeing what the problem is.

I hate sitting there in front of a TV to play my games, I'd rather be at my PC. But If I'm going to play a console type game I'd rather have it on a handheld.

Besides, just becuase they're console style games doesn't mean they only work on the console. Uncharted with its short chapters worked very well for me, and I played most of it inbetween stuff at work.

Considering many of the most acclaimed portable titles of all time were very console like games, attempting to capture the home experience on the go, then yes, that would appear to be the case for many people.

Honestly I'm not looking forward to Vita or 3DS, i know 3DS is already out, but it's the first handheld from Nintendo I've had zero desire to own.

I have only played my DSi once away from home, and that was when i downloaded Plants Vs. Zombies and I couldn't stop playing the game. A game that coincidentally is available on my android phone i recently purchased, making the DSi moot for me.

I definitely do not look for home console like experiences on the go. As hyped as you 3 are for this Vita and the PS3 like experience it will bring to you, I still believe you guys are in the extreme minority, and sales will reflect this come Feb. I do expect a strong opening week, maybe even month. However once the early adopters grab theirs, I believe the numbers will drop quickly.

Dude you are so anti anything that isn't Nintendo that it isn't even funny. I honestly don't understand your mentality.

Portability I guess. The 3DS has Street Fighter, BlazBlue, Dead or Alive, etc. along with Tekken and Smash Bros. coming. I guess it just makes sense on handhelds now.

They're the perfect games for on the go. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to play Uncharted and games like Batman on this thing, but most of the time I play a handheld I have 15 minutes (if that) to play a game unless I'm home. Fighting and racing genres are perfect for this.

I can't say I'm complaining. Those two genres are what I grew up with the most. I just can't get into FPS games like the new generation.

Fighting games make sense on a portable system because they're good time-killers.

Oh, and I love the cases by the way.

"The Vita iteration also seems to include both the PS3's exclusive character (God of War's main angry dude, Kratos) as well as at least some DLC (one Mr. Freddy Krueger is pictured on the box above)."...

Not to mention Skarlet, Kenshi and Rain, the other DLC characters.

I wonder I'd they have a MK game on tap for the 3DS since they completely skipped out on the DS. I would buy it.

Since this is just a port of a game I already own (on the 360 so no Kratos), I will have to pass on this.

You would buy an MK port for the 3DS, but skip the one for the Vita? Is that what you're saying?

Yeah, I didn't think that made much sense either. You're passing on a complete port, but would settle for what will most likely be a severely scaled down port if they put it on the 3DS?

Read my post again. I didn't say I would by a port on the 3DS. This news just reminded my that there was no DS MK game and I wonder if there will be a MK game made for the 3DS. I don't want a port at all if I already own a version of it.

I don't get why it is taboo to mention another console in a post about a different one. Can we not get past that? Probably not. There will always be people who try to call you out and try to make it seem like your biased. Some things never change.

Chill out. I was just trying to understand your reasoning, not turn this into a handheld war. It's not that serious.

My 1st post winded up somewhere else below, but I was trying to tell you that there is a MK DS game, UMK.

Hey Netherrealm, please give Vita owners custom soundtracks and Cross Play functionality like Wipeout 2048...

If I can play online against other MK owners whether its PSVita or PS3, I'll be a fan for life!!!

Please Please Please!
