Once in fully costume she looks ok like Lilith, but the girl at 0:34 looks like Lilith and she has not even the costume, tattos and eyes yet...

when the narrator says "One woman fit the bill ..." the girl on screen was perfect.

The one they chose was only passable.

I was expecting some mo-cap footage or clips of her in a sound booth capturing some Lilith lines (without the Aussie acent), and was somewhat disappointed by this.

Oh hell, she's hot, gimme Borderlands 2 already.

"never mine"

That's good advice. Mining is a dangerous operation. I think there were some more Chinese miners killed in a coal mine recently.

But why are we discussing mining on a videogame site?

"She's such a strong, confident, badass character."

It's funny how calling a female character strong has become a cipher for "We're creating an object but we don't want to admit it."

@BernardMarx Gearbox isn't exactly the type to deny making an "object", I'm sure they take that as a given (especially for a game with as many stereotypes as this one). :)

There are plenty of strong women out there in media that aren't that way either, it's not an exclusive description by any means, though I certainly wouldn't deny that some people use it to distract from the obvious.

I actually think it's just a default response actresses (or in this case, a model) use to describe a character when they really don't know anything about them.

Borderlands was a great game and if they make some minor refinements to the gameplay; Borderlands 2 will be an even greater game. My biggest issue was the sheer number of guns - it became a little overwhelming trying to figure out "which was best" in the heat of battle. The cel-shaded graphics were brilliant - and I still can't understand why more developers don't utilize them. Cel-shaded games seem to retain their "age" far better - look at Wind Waker - still one of the prettiest adventure games ever made - even trumping some of the more recent adventure games on Xbox 360 and Wii.

Gearbox Software has been steadily becoming one of the best developers this generation and Randy Pitchford seems like such an awesome guy - be great to work for him.

My biggest hope - after Borderlands 2 and Aliens: Colonial Marines are released, they announce and release a follow up to Duke Nukem Forever. I know Duke's got some haters, but I loved the game and the franchise - and a "ground up" Duke game from Gearbox would undoubtedly remedy any of the technical issues gamers had with Forever.

You do realize she's only the model. Someone else is providing the voice.

The woman who appeared on your screen as the guardian angel was not the same woman who voiced her. Same deal here.

The guardian actually appeared in the game. This actress is just promotional material and doesn't really look like the model in the game. There's no need for her really other than promotional needs.

The casting call explicitly said the model was there to fulfil a similar role to the angel in the first game. It was very specific about it.

I don't see the reason when the game model is fully capable of it, and looks no where near this real life model.

why are they focusing around this character? borderlands characters imo were completely faceless in the first one, they could of brought in all new ones and I think i'd be happier. its not like there's any real character development in the series, just awesome gameplay, which i'm fine with. just think they should concentrate more on that.

@(Unverified) They are bringing all new characters, this is a tie-in for narrative, not for character development from what I've seen. Extended cameo basically.

We'll get a Siren, but as Borderlands lore goes, each Siren was gifted with a different power. Though we never did get to see what Commondant Steele did, since she died so easily.

I wonder if it occurred to anyone here that in addition to looking like Lilith, the person in question also had to be able to act. For those saying that the chick at :33 is perfect I'd be in total agreement if it was a visual discussion, but since Gearbox was also trying to cast that person to be an actual actress for her in the game that this particular person fit both sides sufficiently.

As for her accent, who's to say she doesn't get rid of it while actually acting? It wouldn't exactly be some brand new phenomenon among actors to talk with their native accent off screen. Look at Christian Bale, Sam Neil, Sam Worthington, etc, etc.
