Rebellion's Sniper Elite V2 throws players behind enemy lines as an Allied soldier in World War II, strategically taking down Axis troops during the Battle of Berlin with x-ray-enabled headshots, as shown in the above video. In the video after the break, Senior Producer Steve Hart calls Sniper Elite V2 more of a "thinking-man's shooter than some of the run-and-gun titles" out now -- he must be really into this war thing, because those sound like fightin' words to us.

I hope there is a return to WW2 games next generation. There were so many this one but there is still so much to be done.

I hope that's sarcasm...
I want to see a modern rematch with the British. I'd play a game like that.

Can't wait for this one. One of the most overlooked titles on PS2. It was quite challenging game, but extremely rewarding. I have a big expectation, I hope it's going to be as hard as the first one.

I'm excited for this. I was having a discussion with a friend a while back about how we really don't care for the Halos, Call of Duties, etc style of play.
I started to describe a game: 'third person, possibly set in WWII, where you're a sniper'... and she tells me she just saw a trailer for a game like that. Not only was I glad to see I wasn't alone in the world, but now I have a game to look forward to. :-D

I know some people will enjoy this game, but that second video made the game sound like a lot of work and not a lot of fun. If they include the ability to save whenever then ok, otherwise I can see it being pretty frustrating, pretty quickly.

It's difficult, that's for sure. But it's also extremely rewarding. It's not the same as a COD or Battlefield headshot (although, I enjoy both those series); there's far more effort put into a single shot and when it works, it works spectacularly . It's a game of work and reward.
I might add, the first one was very good. As someone said above me, it was overlooked and unfortunately so. I recommend buying it on Steam or for PS2 or Xbox, whatever version you can get your hands on. It's pretty cheap now, and I guarantee that you'll enjoy it more then you think.

I didn't hear about the first game until I had my 360. I got it because xbox.com listed it as being one of the original games that would work on the 360. Then you read the small print that it's only guaranteed to work on the American 360. Boooo.
Anyway looking forward to this.

This is a bit of a surprise, I actually really enjoyed the first game ((although I didn't actually fully finish it... yet)) I just didn't think it did well enough to warrant a sequel, glad I'm wrong.

I waited so many years for a sequel, it's about time!

I didn't even know they were making a sequel!
This has immediately jumped to the top of my most anticipated games list, by far.
The original was absolutely incredible!

The simplicity of the original made it great - essentially just you and your sniper rifle.
They are adding a lot to the sequel and while the additions do look incredible, I really really hope that don't over complicate things and take away the charm of feeling like a long sniper with a rifle on a mission.

I have the original for Wii and it's a lot of fun with the Wii controls. However, Rebellion has gone downhill, and seeing how this is published by 505 Games, I'll keep my expectations dialed back.
