Last week, Bethesda gave us the patch notes for Skyrim's next update, version 1.4. Rather than longingly glare at a web page for all of the fixes coming to your plagued save files, you have another option, granted you're playing the game on PC: you can opt into a beta version of the new update. Just make sure you back up all of your save files and other pertinent things first, mmkay?
If you want in, all you have to do is load up Steam, go into your Account tab under the Settings section and click "change" on Beta Participation. A drop-down menu will appear; select "Skyrim Beta" and, after restarting your Steam client, you should be good to go. And if you want to stop playing the beta version, all you need to do is go back into settings and opt out -- sorry, yelling at your monitor simply won't get it done this time, folks.

Wait, so you mean the game at current is actually a released version? I thought it was a for pay beta already.

You are a douche, mister.
What is it with all the Skyrim jokes about the bugs from certain people? Sure, the game has its flaws...but it has over 150 HOURS OF GAMEPLAY CONTENT. Of course there are bugs! And Bethesda is trying to fix them. Give them a break. Besides...those are almost all just miscellaneous quests problems anyway. No big deal.
You clearly never played Gothic 3 after its release. THAT was a painful bug package sold as a "game". Believe me.
Skyrim is absolutely fine...especially after considering the actual amount of content.

I think you should jump off a bridge because Gothic 3 did.

Wow, I sent you guys the tip, then 45 minutes later it magically shows up on your site without even a mention of my site.
That's some classy journalism there...

@B0HICAH Well it stands to reason that if I sent them a tip, via that button on the top of the screen that says "Tip us", and then 45 minutes later the story I sent them shows up, it's probably safe to assume they saw it. Especially when that Bethesda Blog article has been up for a few hours now and only after sending my tip did they post the story.

@B0HICAH Bethesda's Blog has had this article up for a couple of hours now... So why would they use your site other than the official word?

@chuge So who is to say this article wasn't just waiting in a queue to be posted?

@ZexionArmando Because that's what journalists do. I'm not asking to be credited as the source, because I'm not. But if you look at other Joystiq articles, when the news come by way of another site, they usually list credit that site by way of "via: whatever site". It's just shady is all. And he even stole the tone of my article and everything.

How many tips do you think this site gets on a daily basis that the staff has to wade through at any given time? How many tips do you think other people who follow the Bethesda blog sent in about this very same thing?
And do you not think pretty much every member of the Joystiq staff themselves follows the Bethesda blog, not to mention every other major developer's blog there is?
Don't be so childish and naive.

I don't see how they stole the tone of your post.
I thought it was known that Joystiq often posts articles in advance (hidden) before letting them go live a few hours later.
Joystiq tries to space out there posts so that you have stuff to read all day long. They usually only post articles/stories about every 30-60 minutes, depending on how much news is coming out that day.
They follow a lot of gaming sites and developer twitter accounts already.
They often times get tons of people posting the same tip to them.
They don't always list a source if a story comes straight from a PR memo from the company.
They're human and make mistakes too. I'm sure they'd appreciate it if you didn't publicly berate them for failing to include a VIA site (whether it's how the news was obtained or not).
If you have a problem with their policies you can email Ludwig. He's the EIC.

I hope the PS3 patch fixes the lag when your save file is huge, cause I want to finish getting all my shouts.
14 MB save file + lots of fast traveling = annoying how many times I need to restart in a short period of time :|

Even though it's not as bad as it was, it's still bad enough to not be fun. I will admit the first 7000KB was fun, but from 8 to 15+ was a joke. Cue the Benny Hill music, sh*ts going to get crazy.

Opt in, finish download, click on "Continue", experience infinite load screen hang. At least it was one of the cooler 3D models this time, the blood spattered orc. Hate it when the game loops to nowhere while looking at the East Empire shipping sign or the squatting khajiit. How many days until ME3 releases?
